Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu: Turning Point 3 (2024)
Best Turning Point?
No death. No action. Simply put we are witnessing some of the best character arcs in any media. This episode was amazing from start to finish, all the characters in this episode felt so real and not just Rudy but Aisha, Norn, Sylphie heck even side characters like Zanoba and Elinalese felt so justified in their dialogue and decision making.
Rudues is the best character without a doubt but watching his inner turmoil with him having a baby which in itself is awesome to see considering what he's been through (past life or present). Him deciding what he needs to do after he reads that letter is just so awesome to see considering he can just relax and enjoy his life as is but he knows what must be done and he's really the only man for this journey that's about to unfold.
The other turning points have featured pain, regret, sorrow even death. This turning point in my opinion is the best simply because of the real approach to every scene and also because of the amazing character writing given to each character, and the dialogue alone.
Maybe the best episode of Mushoku Tensei. 1000000/10.
Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu: My Older Brother's Feelings (2024)
Peak Writing
WOW. The writing in this show is second to none, from the parallels to Rudy's old life in japan to Norn's life at the university is just amazing storytelling. I love how we get insight into Norn's feelings of thinking she's not good enough compared to her older brother and then Rudy seeing himself in Norn ugh so many parallels in this episode like with Norn seeing her dad in Rudeus and I know I sound like a broken record so I also want to highlight the voice acting in this episode because you can feel the emotion coming from their voice work.
This episode cooked with the storytelling, voice work, animation and not many shows make you cry but this episode right here will hit you in the feels from the beautiful dialogue alone. Best episode of the new season and a top 3 episode in all of Mushoku Tensei IMO.
11/10.
Ore dake Level Up na Ken: The Real Hunt Begins (2024)
Best Adaption Ever.
I see now.
I see why so many people were hyping up this anime as soon it got announced, the level of care and attention to not just the detail but to the character of Jinwoo is amazing to watch.
This episode has perfect pacing because it flew by and did not feel rushed one bit with all of the characters in this episode assessing the situation within their own minds; all that info could become overwhelming but man this episode killed it
The animation was amazing but what struck out to me most this episode was Jinwoo himself. His character is so believable and his decision making was pretty realistic to what i think most people would do if they find themselves in a situation like this. His moral dilemma about his actions this episode whilst finding a way to justify said actions was just fascinating to see, the anime just started but his character is quickly becoming one of my favorites.
Shoutout Taito Ban because he was perfectly cast as Jinwoo Sung; the changes in Jinwoo's voice in some moments is amongst the best voice acting i've seen in any media and he's killing it as Jinwoo.
This episode is proving how this show will go down as not just the best manhwa adaption ever but one of the best adaptions ever put to screen.
11/10.
Bungou Stray Dogs: Twilight Goodbye (2023)
One of the best finales of all time
WOW, where to even start with this episode.
I can't believe what I just watched, from the breathtaking animation to the amazing music then to the honestly heart breaking voice acting; this episode has it all my god. It's hard to wrap up a long arc in a way that feels satisfying but this episode went way beyond and delivered in my opinion one of the best season finales i've ever seen, anime or television or anything. It's also hard to have so many things happening all at once and still not feel overwhelming, they paced this episode very well imo because those 23 minutes flew by. Just ah this episode answered so much and had so much payoff while having amazing direction, voice acting, visuals, you name it. This is definitely the best episode of Bungou Stray Dogs and is definitely up there on my lists of best season finales ever.
100000000/10.
Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu: The White Mask (2023)
What a crazy episode
First of all i just want to say this was the best episode of the whole season hands down, i also want to give props to rudeus' and sylphies voice actors because they both had moments to shine this episode. I'm also loving the pacing this episode that mostly had two characters talking amongst one another and to make it feel super quick while still getting all the information we need to be hearing without rushing at a certain point.
All in all this might be my favorite episode besides a Turning Point episode thanks to the great character/voice acting as well as the crazy revelation that was revealed this episode.
Easily 10/10 best episode of the season.
Vinland Saga: Hometown (2023)
best show of the entire year
I don't know how this show does it but every episode this season was a masterpiece of storytelling and this one is no different.
First off i just want to give credit to a very underrated character in my opinion, Lief Ericson. This man continued to search for Thorfinn even after finding him in York at the end of last season, now at the end of this season he completed his mission to find Thorfinn and the look on his face when he saw Helga and Thorfinn embrace gave me a deep sense of respect for him and what he had to go though to find Thorfinn. He's the definition of a 🐐
That being said we've been spoiled all season with some of the best character development, writing and overall storytelling and I feel like we're just getting started with Thorfinn as well as his brother Einar looking determined to create Vinland.
Best anime of the year and also the best show of the entire year by far.
Vinland Saga: Pain (2023)
Masterclass
This show is amazing my god the voice acting is top notch especially from Einar and Thorfinn not to mention the smooth very fluid animation but what's really insane about this episode above all is the damn. Writing. I can't express this enough how beautifully this show is written and how Thorfinn is on his way to becoming the best main character in any medium, period; my opinion of course. I just feel i've never seen such great character acting paired with some of the best writing and character development i've ever seen in anything really, i would also like to point out Einar this episode was incredible and i could honestly say i shed a tear this episode no thanks to him..
best episode of the series and maybe the best episode all year.
Vinland Saga: Way Home (2023)
Nobody talk to me
This episode right here man. Hands down the best episode I've seen all season and without a doubt a top 3 episode in all of Vinland Saga. My god from the character writing between not just thorfinn and snake but gardar and arnheid was so beautiful to watch, we're witnessing some of the best writing in not just anime but in television as a whole, this episode was a masterclass of character building, writing, development you name it. This show checks all those boxes and then some. Now onto the best part of the episode which imo was the latter half because wow there's very little dialogue but the emotions can be felt just by how great the storytelling is as well as the scenes of us seeing what gardar is seeing through his perspective and my god what a tear jerker. Best episode of the season for sure and what a fantastic conclusion to one of the seasons best character. 1000000/10.
Vinland Saga: An Empty Man (2023)
Thorfinn...
Wow this show has always been top tier but this episode in my opinion puts the show up there with some of the best I've ever seen. What we are watching is a masterful character study of Thorfinn with immaculate writing of both him and Einar man this show is something else. The scenes of Thorfinn and Einar just talking was a sight to behold character development wise but also so sad to watch just seeing Thorfinn talk about his past ugh.. There's a bunch of amazing episodes this season but this is by far the best one and quite possibly one of if not the best episode(s) of the entire series so far. 10/10.
Chainsaw Man: Dog & Chainsaw (2022)
Here we go
Wow what a phenomenal series premiere. First off I just want to thank mappa for not holding back on anything in this episode. Of course a show called chainsaw man is going to have blood and gore and what not but they really go into it in this first episode. That being said was not expecting to go through so many dark themes in the span of 25 minutes because wow this may be one of the darkest premier episodes in any show I've ever seen. Really love the OST too every scene had amazing sound design and the episode itself was incredibly paced, those 25 minutes went by incredibly fast. With mappa known as adapting the source material of their shows quite well then this show will be a contender for top anime of the year with only 12 episodes no less.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners: My Moon My Man (2022)
Amazing.
Wow what an amazing season finale; was not expecting this show to resonate with me this much even though I've played and beat the game that this show is based off multiple times. That being said wow. This. Episode. The whole show I was invested in David and Lucy's relationship but in this episode it all came together into an honestly perfect finale for a show like this. All the character arcs and motives came to an end in this episode and just ah I'm fresh off watching the ending and it stuck with me so much, those last 10 or so minutes are some of the best I've seen this year in any season finale and when those two characters kiss in front of the moon just made me lose it and it was so beautiful to watch. Thank you to studio trigger and CDPR for making this amazing show. 10000/10.
Steins;Gate 0: Dual of Antinomy -Antinomic Dual- (2018)
I am not okay
This episode made me ugly cry, those last three or so minutes were one of the most emotional/heart wrenching scenes I've seen in any media. It's finally revealed what makise said to okarin (although it was pretty obvious) nonetheless that made me cry even more. This episode will stick with me, definitely the best of steins gate 0 and one of the best episodes of the whole series.
Shingeki no Kyojin: From You, 2000 Years Ago (2022)
My god.
Craziest episode of this season (to me) and that's saying something since this whole season has been insane. Love how they're honoring the manga nearly 1:1 although there's some censoring compared to the manga at least. Eren's VA killing it like always, the music is fantastic as always and that final shot of the episode is haunting to say the least.
My god 10/10 for sure, would rate it higher if I could.
Kimetsu no Yaiba: Never Give Up (2022)
Best episode of the entire show
Ufotable really nailed this episode my god, the animation was insane. Natsuki Hanae always delivers as well and my god that ending whilst the credits roll left me with my jaw dropped. Best episode of the show hands down.
🔥10/10🔥
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations: Shinyû taiketsu (2021)
Unexpected banger
Was skeptical with this episode since last weeks episode wasn't that great but man this episode was 🔥🔥 The fight between Sarada and Cho Cho was great, really nice animation during the entirety of the fight, not to mention how much effort they put into fleshing out sarada's and cho cho's relationship even more. Also really liked the brief moments with kawaki and shinki, just a really great episode and definitely worth the watch.
Fire Force: Shadows Cast by Divine Light (2020)
Crazy episode 🔥
Wow such a great episode, top notch voice acting from joker and benimaru, top tier animation, a nice welcome backstory from one of the shows coolest characters, not to mention the twist in the final seconds. This episode will make you want to rewatch it right after you finish it rightfully so. This is the best episode of this show and quite possibly one of the best shonen episodes I've seen in anime this year, do yourself a favor and watch this episode you won't regret it. 10/10.
Boku no hîrô akademia: Tenko Shimura: Origin (2021)
Wow
While this episode isn't perfect it's pretty damn close, the whole episode itself is A+ but those last three minutes were at the same time both tough and awesome to watch, my god. One of if not the darkest episodes in this whole show and also one of the best, just wow.
Devilman: Crybaby: Crybaby (2018)
Fantastic Ending
These last three episodes broke me but this last episode is world class, I'm still in awe especially at the revelation in the first couple minutes of this episode, that being said the last couple minutes are actually insane and I had myself saying wow over and over again as the credits rolled. Really fantastic ending my god this anime will stick with me for a while.
Devilman: Crybaby: Go to Hell, You Mortals (2018)
Wow
This episode actually messed me up wow, I know this is a 10 episode limited series but I've felt connected to the main characters of this show since the beginning and geez the last couple minutes of this episode really got me just wow, I was just here in my bed watching the credits with my jaw dropped thinking of what I just saw but that being said this was the best episode of this limited series hands down, can't say enough about this episode, just wow.
