Loki (2021–2023)
6/10
Marvel's best series, but season 2 is declining
31 October 2023
I just finished watching s2e4 of Loki, and I believe Loki Season 2 is on the decline. I'm aware that Marvel's quality has been deteriorating, but I had hoped for better from Loki, one of the most interesting characters in the Marvel universe. However, it appears that the focus has shifted from Loki to the TVA.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against plot-driven narratives. But by all accounts, when a series bears the name of a specific character, one would naturally expect it to be character-driven. To illustrate what a plot-driven movie title looks like, consider 'Murder on the Orient Express.'

Regrettably, 'Loki' Season 2 falls short in terms of suspense, notable action sequences, and compelling dramatic moments. The narrative feels flat, lacking the engaging twists and emotional depth that could elevate it to the level expected of a Marvel production. The lack of lovable characters, witty banter, and engaging dialogue is a glaring issue. The humor often falls flat, making it a chore to endure.

Perhaps the most disappointing aspect is the underutilization of the immensely talented cast. Tom Hiddleston, Ke Huy Quan, and Wunmi Mosaku are capable of much more, but the limitations of the script seem to curtail their potential.

I used to like Loki as a character, but not anymore since Loki Season 2.
