The Hunting (2021)
So so bad
Acting - terrible
Script- terrible
Soundtrack - terrible
Plot - unengaging and predictable
SFX - laughable.
Overall zero redeeming features to this movie whatsoever.
I accidentally clicked 2 stars and it won't let me change it down :(
Saltwater: The Battle for Ramree Island (2021)
Truly terrible
I've seen amdram Christmas pantos with better acting than this sorry affair.
The characters are unbelievable and unlikeable, the pacing is awful, gaping potholes/flaws, overall boring and utterly unenjoyable.
Now I *love* a good low budget horror/creature movie, but this film manages to give off a very "low budget" feel but not in a good way.
Haven (2010)
Disappointing cheese and cliche fest
What could have been a promising and interesting series is ruined by God awful script, direction and acting.
Choc full of cliches and predictability. The story is spoon fed to the audience by badly delivered lines rather than through the nuances and inferences that good scripting and directing could have produced. Each episode is formulaic and usually makes little to no sense.
It started out palatable in the first couple of series, but I don't know what happened from season 3 onward...did they get new writers? By season 5 I was physically groaning and rolling my eyes at what was happening on screen.
-why did I stick with it if it was that bad? Well hey, we're in lockdown number 5 so times are pretty desperate, and heck by then I suppose you're invested and hoping it might even somehow surprise you? Eric Balfour is pretty much the only redeeming element, he does what he can with what he's given.
Eragon (2006)
the good, the bad and the ugly...
as a film, it was good, and enjoyable...if you ignored the bad script and bad acting...it was good to switch off and just watch. john malkovich (sp?) was USELESS. but as for being a film of ERAGON, it simply WASN'T, they jumbled up the order of the book and cut out vital bits, it seemed to rushed...and i'm sorry, but Sapphira growing up,and brom's death were utterly awful, just plain WRONG.i felt offended at the way they had portrayed it, it just wasn't true to the book, and these scenes in the book were SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO important...and don't even get me started on Sapphira TELLING eragon her name! hmph. if you look at it as a separate thing...just a fantasy action film, as apposed to a film of eragon, then it's reasonably enjoyable. was disappointed with the portrayal of the end battle, and the casting was AWEFULL!...mixed review i think...lol
