Cheers (1982–1993)
Cheers + Frasier = Successful
31 July 2002
I watched some episodes of "Cheers" and I would like to say it's a great comedy. Last night NBC re-ran the reunion episode on "Frasier" and it brought back some "Cheers" laughter. One quote is "Cliff: Hey, Norm, What's up? Norm: My blood-alcohol level!"

Sesame Street (1969– )
Sunny day...in Canada
18 October 2001
In Canada, Sesame Street is a little different. Since 1997, it has been 30 min and is now called 'Sesame Park', in which takes place in a Canadian park, not on a New York Street. The Canadian Sesame Street introduced charachters like Louie, a squirrel, Basil, a clumzy polar bear, and another charchter (I can not remember her name) whom is a muppet version of Amelia Earhart. The show would also have French segments as the American version has Spanish segements. But most of the American charachters have remained. The lyrics have changed, but the song stayed the same.

Parody in 1st season, but became stupider as it went along...
10 August 2001
Each Character in the first season of "Saved by the Bell: The New Class" was a parody of an original character as the original "Saved by the Bell". Scott Erikson was a parody of Zach. Barton "Weasel" Wyzell was a parody of Samuel "Screech" Powers, and so on. When Screech returned to the series, things started to go down, and so did ratings, until it became a complete waste of time. I like the original "Saved by the bell" better, even though it is not airing on Canadian Television, because nothing can be better than the original!

The Simpsons (1989– )
Cancel it
8 June 2001
I used to like the Simpsons during their first seven years on TV, but now, especially with new episodes, it just seems so much annoying rather than funny. It's always the same d'oh for Homer, the same 'mmm...' for marge, the same 'hokily dokily' for Flanders, basically it's just the same plot, which makes the show even more annoying. And here in Montreal, we get it twice a day on weekdays on channel 22, 45, and 49, and once a day on weekdays on channel 5, and 13. five times on weekends on channel three (including the new episodes) four times on weekends on 45 and 49. Too much of it makes this show possibly the most annoying show ...EVER!

I like Special Victims Unit
29 May 2001
I really like both Law and order and SVU, but the fact that SVU has younger, more athletic actors and seeing worse crimes on this show makes it more interesting then its predecessor. Unlike L&O, this show focuses more on a whole lot of sex crimes, and there are many links to Homicide (Richard Belzer) and L&O (Dann Florek and some of the recurring characters like Briscoe, Carmichael and Green). The cases you see here are not your regular 'Homicides' and these crimes are more gruesome which is another fact which makes this series more interesting.

Annie (1982)
Differences this version with the other one
27 May 2001
Since I have not seen the play of 'Annie', I cannot compare this movie with the play. But I have seen the 1999 version of this film, and that version lacked a whole lot of magic.

Here are some differences:

1. We get to know the other orphans more. 2. 'Punjab' is in this film as in the comic strip. 3. Some songs that we do not see in the 1999 version appear in this one. However, the other songs, when it comes to certain lines, it is a different person singing in this version than the other one. 4. We are introduced to the President of the United States a lot earlier in this film than in the 1999 version. 5. In this movie, the end is the 4th of July where as in the other one the end is at Christmas time. 6. 'Tomorrow' and 'Maybe' have reprises. F.D.R. Sings one of the reprises of 'Tomorrow' and the orphans have their own reprise of 'Maybe' 7. 'It's a hard-knock life' does have a reprise, but it is spoken, and it is spoken like it is an army talking (It is just after 'We got Annie)

These are a few of the many differences I found in the film. All I can say is that this version (1982) is better than the 1999 one.

Boston Public (2000–2006)
I like the show!
16 May 2001
I like the show because it is the very first high school drama that shows the teacher's point of view, unlike certain 'shows' that we see on NBC Saturday mornings. I am beginning to like all 3 of David E. Kelley's shows and I watch them all the time when they are on.

Ally McBeal (1997–2002)
I like Ally McBeal
16 May 2001
I have recently begun to watch Ally McBeal regularly on CTV (airing the new episodes as the same time as the american channel FOX) and am beginning to like it. It is really funny AND dramatic at the same time, especially scenes in recent episodes where Ally is imagining that Larry is walking in the room and she kisses him but we end up seeing her kiss Jackson instead. I cant wait till 'Boston Public' is in reruns because the French version of Ally McBeal (They just started to show it in French) airs at the same time as Boston Public does.

The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999)
Season 3, Episode 5
Comparing both versions...
13 January 2001
I have seen both versions of "Annie", and the new one is very good, almost as good as the original. But there were too many changes in the remake, like for example: there is no character named "Punjab". However, nothing can be better than the original version!
