Pulgarcito (1958)
Another bizarre and disturbing fairytale from Childhood Productions!
12 November 2000
Well, this film is certainly one of the best fairy tales released by Childhood Productions, but then again that isn't saying very much. This film is best seen solely for laughs, although you'de be hard-pressed to find it anywhere nowadays. The acting is typically dire, the plot is the usual bizarre pastiche of old fairy tales, and Tom Thumb keeps changing size. I saw it here in Britain a few days ago on a program which makes fun of B-Movies... I thought that it was quite funny, but I expect that in it's complete form it would be torture to watch. My Advice: See Snow White and Rose Red, another Childhood Productions classic.

Another Great Childhood Production
12 November 2000
This one is significantly better than some of the other Childhood Productions, and is actually quite fun to watch (although don't show it to little kids... they would probably be extremely troubled by it). The evil dwarf is extremely politically-incorrect, and King Nitwit is no doubt the most annoying character to ever appear in a Childhood Film. Perhaps the most notable thing about the film is it's horrifically disturbing soundtrack, which gave me frequent nightmares as a child. See it!
