F9 (2021)
Too much of a good thing...fianlly boring
Just what you'd expect, but too much of it. Characters come and go so fast, you might miss them if you blink. And have to tell yo: sometimes quite confusing...especially those flashback that are not flashbacks. Was hoping for something special.
Miracles for Sale (1939)
71 Minutes Running Time
If Browning had the cast speaking any faster, this would have been a half hour film. A very convoluted third tier film. One might have expected more from Browning, who segued working with Griffith as a actor to directing the classic Dracula. His last film. Thanks for TCM for programming it.
Friday Night Lights (2006)
Just wondering what the legal drinking age in Texas is!
In a number of episodes, we see these supposedly H.S. students doing a lot of drinking, sometimes in front of parents (guess that's the best way), but was curious if the legal drinking age in TX is lower than 18. If not, I'm surprised the network would condone so many scenes with underage drinking...Call me old-fashioned, and I guess I am. I just think it sends the wrong message (like Kevin's much ballyhooed drug use on The Tonight Show...Leno makes jokes about drug use and yet there doesn't seem to be any reluctance to promote the fact that Kevin uses drugs...but that is supposedly late night TV). That's my only complaint about the show, which boasts some very fine acting. If you're from the Deep South, you know those Friday night games are the thing...not just in TX.
