Good Portrayal of Blessed Damien
3 August 2000
I knew nothing of Father Damien until I saw this movie, but after seeing it I immediately sought more information on him. I strongly recommend this movie for those who are curious about the saint or have a special devotion to him.

A Masterpiece

The cast was great: the adorable Antonio Banderas and gorgeous Catherine Zeta-Jones were a charming couple.. it was historically accurate, there was no profanity...it was exciting, it was romantic... what else can I say? It was one of the best movies I have seen.

A Lovely Film
3 August 2000
Although I wasn't thrilled with Donovan's flower child type music, Graham Faulkner and Judi Bowker were brilliant in their roles. There was something about the two of them together that was mesmerizing. The child-like innocence of Francesco and Chiara's loyalty to him seemed quite accurate. Basically, Graham Faulkner and Judi Bowker did a beautiful job. : )

Great Example of a Great Movie

This film is a beautiful portrayal of the apparitions at Lourdes, and it has a brilliant cast. I've read the book by Franz Werfel, as well, and the movie did not really stray from it (which I liked). Goodness, I wish more movies were made like this one!
