Just finished watching Founder's Day. This was the smart satire on small town American values that Eli Roth's Thanksgiving utterly failed to be. Tremendous work all around.
The whole cast is great. I especially loved that horny couple that felt like they came out of a Gregg Araki film.
Also, did not know where it was going. Which extended past knowing who the killers were. These things don't usually wrap up with complex moral quandaries.
The whole thing feels like the best Dimension and New Line Films horror films of the late 90's but with more nuance than those films were capable of. Broad/silly when it needs to be but subtle/thoughtful as well.
