I Care a Lot (2020)
Every movie needs someone to root for.
And this movie doesn't have that. The main character is unlikeable/evil. That coupled with the very very unrealistic last 1/3rd of the film makes this an easy miss. Great Job GOLDEN GLOBES.
Illegally Yours (1988)
The writers should have been paid by the word.
Seriously somewhere along the way someone equated amount of dialog with snappy or witty dialog. It is not, it turns out to be just painful dialog, with no rest for the ears. Yes the acting is painful, but sometimes that can be funny in a weird sort of way. Yes the plot is beyond stupid, but this is to expected in a "screwball" comedy. The dialog sets a low below the other factors by about a factor of 10. Avoid this at all costs.
Ishtar (1987)
A Polarizing Experience?
My wife and I originally saw this when it opened before reading any of the reviews. (This was before Internet email reviews) The whole theater laughed, and sat through the credits. It was only later when I found out how terrible the movie was supposed to be. Look it is far from perfect, I can't decide whether casting Hoffman and Beatty in opposite roles (Hoffman as the ladies man, Beatty as the loser) was inspired or flawed. At some points of the movie it seems that playing against type makes their "badness" more realistic, unfortunately at other moments it makes each actor perhaps stretch a little too much.
And let's just say that as someone who has fooled around with singing, the bad songs are brilliant in their awfulness. And to be able to consistently sing close but off is incredibly hard.
Ultimately it is not a great movie, but a funny movie that is better than it's reputation.
Landspeed (2002)
The best movie on Landspeed Records evah!
Of course maybe that's just because it sits pretty much alone in the category. Low budget, bad script, questionable physics explanations, and inadvertently mocking the very thing you are supposed to be honoring are all there. Try and find "The Mission" BBC documentary video on the Thrust SSC actually breaking Mach 1. Much more drama and coolness.

The King's Guard (2000)
In the history of cinema...
there have been many great sword fights. "Robin Hood", "Captain Blood" and even "The Princess Bride" come to mind. This movie is so bad to almost drive the memory of those great fights right out of my mind. Bad acting-oh yes, bad dialog-oh yes, but the worst choreographed fight scenes perhaps in the history of movies. I know professional stunt people are expensive but not spending the money really really shows.
