One Dark Night (1982)

Let's all say 'finally' when this one is done

One word: crap! This movie is so bad, so fake, so boring,....It goes about a girl who has to spend one night in a mausoleum, if she wants to become a member of a girl teenage club. Well, she does that but the other members are going to tease her in the night, trying to frighten her. BUT (yes there is a but) what they don't know is that there's a dead man who is actually still alive and who can do telekinese, and.... he's in the mausoleum.. Ok, this sounds good, but there is no good acting, and no good script if you ask me. Come on, they gave the girl who has to spend the night only 4 lines! So there is a plot, but it all looks cheep and cheesy, so don't bother this movie and rent another, it's just 80's horror crap.

Slaughterhouse Rock (1987)

So the music is the madness?

This movie is not so good: it's supposed to be horror, and yes...it has some scary scenes, but on the overall it's pretty lame.Also a good thing is that the movie has got a plot, they thought very hard about it... Although I have to admit that the acting was very good (too good for an 80's horror movie), it just didn't scare me or touch me. So, rent it if you're a horrorfan who wants to see every horrormovie there is (like me), otherwise... NOT !

Anaconda (1997)

This one took my breath away

Anaconda is one of those movies that really gives you a scare (although this one is made with a considerable low budget).

The movie has a plot, great actors, and nice locations. The only thing that's sad, is that you can see the snake is fake. In the 80's this could have been a great movie. But despite the low f/x I still rate it an 8 on 10 because 1) It has Jennifer Lopez in it 2) It scares a lot 3) It has Jennifer Lopez in it who gets monkey blood over her body, which makes her even more attractive.

Rest in Pieces (1987)

This is not that bad !

This movie is not good, it's supposed to be horror, but it didn't frighten me at all. It has a great plot (they really thought about it this time), but it's made in a cheap way. Like for example: there's a piece of clothing flying, but you can see that it's held up by the camera man! These things and the bad acting make the horror movie a B movie. I rated it a 4 on 10 because there are much worse horror movies and because it has a great background idea (some chick being terrorized by her dead aunt and the inhabitants of her bungalows).

Scream (1996)

This one is a real classic

OK, I watched this movie already six times, and it still scares me off. It's one of the horrorclassics of the 90's, maybe even from all times. The movie is a parody on the many other teen slashers, but you really don't see that. I saw it like a good teen slasher movie, not as a parody on the genre.I rated it 10.

Now, what makes this movie so great is the opening scene...Drew Barrymore plays Casey Becker who gets dead pranks from a real psycho. This scene lasts 10 minutes, it starts slow but comes to a great finale which isn't only a gore scene.

It's also very difficult to know who the killer is, I didn't know till the end.

Many horrorfans (I am too) hate this movie, but I think it's a real classic in the genre. So, give it a try (or another) and terrify yourself. The only sad point on this movie is the sequel: it's just a comedy. So, I have my high hopes fixed on Scream 3

Scream 2 (1997)

Finally a NOT worthy sequel !

This movie is good, but not as good as the original. I had high hopes when I went to see this movie in local theatre, and most of the hopes came true: great action, fantastic slasher scenes, etc.... But I already knew in the first half hour who were the killers, and that's not so great. But that isn't the worst thing of this movie... cause that would be the ending. Never in my life have I ever seen such a forced ending in a movie. Where Scream 1 was a parody on all horror movies, scream 2 was a parody on Scream itself... But overall, I rated it a 8 because of the frightening scenes in it. But believe me, this sequel isn't worthy at all to the original, fantastic Scream. So, I'll have my high hopes fixed on part 3 .... In the meantime: WOULD YOU LIKE TO DIE TONIGHT ???

A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985)

Truly a big mistake

This movie is one big mistake, it's awful, ridiculous and isn't a horror movie at all !!! It has more potential as a comedy. But the horrible fact is that there are many faults in this part and that there is no plot at all! Why does Freddy kill the kids, for example ?? Well, if you're a diehard fan (like me) see it, if not.....loose it.

By the way, I gave it a 3 because there is always worse.

Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998)

This sequel is just one chase, which makes it so great !

Well, i LOVE this movie! I rated it a 9 on 10 , just because its so great. The storie is as follows: Michael Myers returns after 20 years, now that Laurie Strode has become boss of a school and has made a family. Michal comes to school, when the kids are away camping. Only a few stay there, with Laurie....Chase begins, with some of the greatest slasherscenes ive ever seen.Watch the food elevator scene, no words for that one. So, believe me, this movie is extremely scary, with great actors and actresses, and with a plot....Its even better (as in more realistic) than Scream. So, give it a change, it IS underrated.
