Who Am I? (Ngo hai sui) is a great film and as Jackie Chan films go, has a very decent plot! Jackie plays a US operative who is sent on a mission with a team in South Africa. The mission succeeds and he can't remember anything else from that point; he doesn't even know who he is! The rest of the film then is about his own personal quest to find out his past and identity; only to find his every effort is being hampered by people high up in the US military who don't want him to know past, or better still, to prevent him from doing so......permanently. In the film, he co stars with Michelle Ferre (for whom alone the whole film is worth watching :) and Mirai Yamamoto. The acting from Mirai, in my opinion, is not as great as that of Michelle (but then again, Michelle's a reporter and used to TV). The three main fight sequences involved are brilliant to watch and as in all of Jackie's films, one can feel the pain as blows are exchanged and taken. The cinematography of the African bush is nicely done and the way the film is structured (small snippets of memory reveal themselves to tell us what went on)and it makes the audience want to find out Jackie's past as well; thus involving you into the film.
So go and rent it/ buy it and Who Am I? (Ngo hai sui) comes highly recommended - it's well worth watching! Ian
