Hansel & Gretel meet Delicatessen!
22 November 1999
I can not say that this is a movie for all tastes, but if you feel watching a great classic kind of tale, then go for it! I hope you have a good time and even a few laughs. I really found it funny in some parts... I have to say I liked it very much!

Funny, touching film...
14 November 1999
This is not a complicated movie, its a film about love, trust, desires, lost, suffering, in other words, of every day contemporary life.

It so easy to watch that you feel part of the film because you can easily relate to one or more of the characters which go from a "freak" teen girl to a mature homosexual.

Jeremy Podeswa made a beautiful film about life that makes you think about your own life and how are you living it. Watch it!

A true story that touches your heart
14 November 1999
I have to say that Lynch is one of my favorites directors, and I never thought he'll do something like this (so "normal"). I had my doubts about this film because I knew it was going to be completely different from his other work, but once that I saw the movie I was very happy.

This is a very enjoyable film, very funny at times and very touching, with wonderful performances from the actors.

Mamá es boba (1997)
Beautiful, sarcastic, is real life!
13 November 1999
Mama es Boba, wich means My Silly Mother is one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen. The story is told thru the eyes of a kid, (the son of the "silly" mother) who has to put up with everything that happens to his mum & dad, specially the fact that the couple doesn't realize the terrible things that are taking place around them until too late. This is a "very, very sad comedy" as told from the director himself recently at the London Film Festival. And he is totally right. It makes you laugh while watching, but at the very same time you can only feel terrible in the inside. The people who is in the movie -except for the family and a secretary of a tv station that hardly says a few words- they are all very mean, perversous and heartless. This is not a movie with the typical "good guy" and "bad guy" but is rather full of "bad guys" and three inocent wonderful human beings. The film, however, is full of sarcasm, of black humor perhaps, but above all, the very sad thing is that is pretty much like real life. If you have the chance to catch this film, please DON'T miss it! Bravo for the young spanish director Santiago Lorenzo.
