Repeating history
6 May 2003
2001 wasn't perhaps Eric Roberts best year. Both Raptor and this came out. Watched Raptor a while ago and really thought it sucked and being Erics worst. But that had it´s share moment of fun and D-standard. This one doesn't have a thing.

Tommy Lee Thomas is the name of the probably worst actor in these days. The story lacks any punch and the whole thing feels even slower than a snail breaking in curves.

The two thing that stands out are Martin Kove and Eric Roberts. You could argue about their effort being good or what but compared to the rest they are above all criticism.

I say thank you Roberts see you next time (and hopefully a better one).

OH MY GOD

Warning: Spoilers
I am a huge Eric Roberts fan, I collect his movies and so far has get to 60. But I´m honest to say that sometimes he really makes awful movies. But hey that´s why I like him - he is entertaining.

But this one has to take the price, I can´t stop wonder why. Somehow they managed to get Eric and also Corbin Bernsen to the picture.

While Bernsen is plain awful (I really don´t like him), Roberts manage to be the best thing in the movie (and that doesn´t mean much). He practically do it on routine basis.

The female lead (Brasselle) looks like a plastic doll and acts like one to. And Tim Abell and his crew looks like action-man plastic dolls and acts like those to.

The plot is really embarrasing. I haven´t seen any of the Carnosaur movies so I can´t recall on the footage that has been added from there, but it explains some things. But still there are holes huge as craters in the plot.

SPOILERS ALERT

The first attacks are located outside the laboratory in the woods nearby. But at the end they blow the whole laboratory in pieces and just relax that everything is over, but they forgot about the ones outside??????

When the helicopter pilot is eaten alive I wonder how she couldn´t notice a T-rex climbing into the chopper????

The guys in orange overalls is my favourite - what are they doing, out for a jogging round or what??

Of course there are a B-movie standard sex-scene with silicon titties involved too. This time it´s Lorissa McComas that greets us. I don´t have any problem with that (she looks awful) but to look at a guy squeezing tits and being on the verge of climax for 8!!!! minutes is just tooo long.

Shame on you all (including Eric Roberts) - Now I look forward to watch Con Games (I wonder???)

What to say
20 May 2002
I must say this is one of the best movies of all time but there are a contradiction, a logic mistake in the movie that I can't get around.

The fulfillment of John Doe's horrifying plan is based around David Mills (Brad Pitt) and his wife (Gwyneth Paltrow). John Doe envy Mills wife, that's is sin. And when Mills kills him he is punished and in the same time Mills wrath is punished by letting Doe win and the fact that is wife is dead.

The plan of John Doe has been planned for a long time. The victim of sloth has been tied up in his bed precisely a year. So we can be sure of the fact that John Doe has planned it at least a year.

We also learn that Mills and his wife have recently moved to the nameless city because of Mills new job. They have only lived there four a week or something.

Then we can see that when John Doe started his sinister plan he didn't know about Mills and his Wife. His sin wasn't obvious.

Of course we could say that he could have picked another woman, another victim for his own sin (envy). But then it wouldn't have been an inspector. Freeman character is unwed so he is excluded. It had to be an investigator of the gruesome murders to have worked the way he had planned.

This is just a thought that I got. But I don't see anything wrong about it. For me there exist a loophole in Se7en, which is a big disappointment.

But hey, ignore that and have a lot of fun watching this otherwise spectacular and horrifying movie.

9/10 (degraded after the discovery)

A good thriller with OK actors.

I rented this because Robert Patrick stars in it. Otherwise I would never rent this kind of movie, but I was surprised about it. The movie had an OK story and decent actors. Robert Patrick made one of hid best perfomances so far as I've seen.

Of course this is not a great movie but for a 90 minutes entertainment it's great.

I gave it a 6

Decent movie with bad actors.

I like Robert Patrick even if I have realized that he is not the best actor this world has seen. This movie is a kind o slow-moving action flick with a lot of over-exaggerated shooting. Brion James portrays a good guy if you can call a assassin that's in problem for that. Tim Thomerson is a big failure in this movie and so is also Andrew Divoff (see Wishmaster instead). I gave it a 4

Surprisingly good.

This movie surprised me. You don't expect much when you starts watching movie with Dolph Lundgren. But this turn out to be a great action-flick. The thing that is worst (as always in this kind of productions) is the acting. Dolph is bad, he just sits there with his stone-face and looks concentrated. Kristian Alfonson looks good but she can't act so well.

But the moments of action in the movie is good. The shooting is pretty much belieavble, except the shooting of chineses at the end. The car chase is a great piece of work but what can you expect when the director has made action-scenes in Tomorrow Never Dies, Starship Troopers and Total Recall.

See it and enjoy it.

Surprisingly Good
15 May 2000
I've heard before that this movie would be great, so I rented it. And I noticed it was great. Mark Dacascos really shows up hsi register. He kicks the s**t out of his enemies. One thing that b-action flick usually lacks of is acting or story. This movie has it both. The actors are not worldclass but handle their parts very well. The story is not so difficult to understand and it works.

The story is about Toby Wong, a man that has a bio-energimodul (I don't know if it's called that on english because I'm from Sweden) in his chest, it makes him much faster and stronger. Now he is offered 5 million dollars if he sells it to Contech, a american company, but of course the Hong Kongs doesn't want this os they starts to chase him. He forces a black unemployed (Kadeem Harrison) to drive him to L.A. were Contech is. And then the ride begins.

I recommend this movie for every action-fan out there. I like Mark Dacascos very much. Now I've seen all his movies since Crying Freeman + Double Dragon (bad movie) and I'm looking forward to his upcoming movie "The Brotherhood of the Wolf" (something like that).

I gave it a 8 out of 10.

Soldier Boyz (1995)
5/10
OK movie.
15 May 2000
This movie was quite OK, not bad or good. It's about a billionaires daughter (Nicole Hansen) that are kidnapped in Vietnam by a terrorist grup led by Vinh Moc (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa). A former major (Michael Dudikoff) are asked to being sent down there to find her, he does it if he are allowed to bring six prisoners and that they will be free after the operation (if they survive). One thing that is bad is that they choice following prisoners. A nazi-guy (Channon Roe), a female murderer (Jacqueline Obradors), a black mass murderer called the Monster (Cedrik Terrell), an innocent murderer that can fight (David Barry Gray), and one black man and one latino that wants to kill each other (Tyrin Turner and Demetrius Navarro). The movie makers choosed this because making the movie characters so tough as possible. But no one in the world would choose murderers and revenging people and put them together for a rescue mission and then release them if they survived.

And why do they have to have a women in the team. I'm not against women in movies or in tougher character roles, but I don't think you need a women in every war-movie just because you wants to show that you are not against women in war.

But the movie works because it has action. But that this kind of movie tries to put in some message about women being discriminated and humiliated by man is awful. If a movie can't handle the basic story and get some descent actors then no one cares about the message.

But as an action-flick its OK.

Bad movie
14 May 2000
This movie is really bad. The acting is plain awful except Michael Ironside. I don't get the story. Richard Grieco is the only survivor after a fight between two Mc-gangs. He comes to a town and suddenly he is choosened to fight against the bad people who wants indian-land. At the cover it said he was a indian himself that returned too his home-town, I didn't hear that in the movie, if so it wasn't clear.

Richard Grieco was one hell of a bad actor. Stiff and ugly. He said his lines like it too. And we wouldn't talk about Sean Young, she hasn' been any of my favourite actors but in this movie she plays a indian women who falls in love with Bolt (Grieco). She is awful.

When I rented it I choosed between this and Subterfuge with Amanda Pays. I choosed this one because of Michael Ironside was in the cast. Maybe I should have taken Subterfuge.

Don't see this unless you think Richard Grieco looks tough on a motorbike with sunglasses.

I will soon uptade the cast-list because I have it at home. I wrote it down after I seen the movie.

dumb and silly - I almost loved it
30 December 1999
This movie really is dumb and silly but i still enyojed it. The story about the women taking over the power after the third world war is rather awful. The names on all the charachters are really laughable. For example Korvis. Korvis in my language (swedish) mean that a person looks like a sausage. Korvis is not like a ordinary american name too I guess. One strange is that all women in the movie looks like models except for one old woman. At the end of the movie their are a great battle between the frollos (women) and the plugarts (men). You see both a lot of women and men die and beaten up. From the beginning there was ecually many women as men but in the end it remains five men but around 20-30 women, strange. I gave the movie a 5 out of 10 because it's really dumb and silly but at the same time really good because of its cheesyiness. If you like silly movie go rent this one - we did.
