The Least Likely Candidate (2004)
A charming comedy with a lot of heart. Definitely worth renting.
This is a charming indie comedy about a hayseed from Nebraska living in Los Angeles whose simple farmboy ways have an unexpected, galvanizing effect on his jaded Angelino neighbors. Obviously shot on a shoestring, the film still manages to deliver engaging performances from the cast and a positive message about trying to make a difference in the world. It's definitely worth a rental.
Stash (2002)
One of the best horror films you'll ever see!
"STASH" is a great horror film! Deftly written and directed, chock full of nail-biting suspense, this is one of the best shorts I've ever seen. If "STASH" comes to a theater, video store or film festival near you--see it! You will not be disappointed. This woman knows how to tell a story!
The Bus Stop (1998)
A really excellent film.
"THE BUS STOP" is a dynamite short film in the vein of Robert Zemeckis or John Hughes. Centered around a little boy trying to find the courage to stand up to bullies, it's a wonderful film full of twists and turns that keeps the audience guessing all the way to a touchingly delightful surprise ending.
I was really impressed with the overall production value of this film. It's beautifully shot, the editing is quick and fun, the score is sublime and the actors all turn in compelling performances--especially noteworthy considering most of the dozen or so actors in the film are young children, and most of the action takes place on a moving school bus.
In summary, this is a dynamic, accomplished work, one of the best short films out there. Kudos to the director, cast and crew.
