Two Fat Ladies (1996–1999)
Entertaining, educational, travel-logue of a cookery show!
8 May 1999
A friend told me about "The two fat ladies". I watched one episode and was completely addicted.

In this day and age of fancy, glitzy cooking shows (which, I do admit, I have viewed and made recipes from), it is refreshing to watch these women.

I am not much of a meat-eater, but I still love the show. The scenery, the bursts into song, the literary quotes and, of course, the style of cooking. They are not fussy, yet make some lovely, unique (and tasty, trust me!) dishes.

Anyone who loves England will enjoy the views as they travel on their motorbike with side car. The little taste of travel and local history combined with cooking is wonderful.

I was so disappointed when both TVO and PBS stopped airing the series (and ceased with Delia's learn to cook at the same time!). Now that I receive the Food Network, I can watch "The ladies" almost every day.

Sit back, pour yourself a drink, and enjoy the Two Fat Ladies. Great stuff!

As Time Goes By (1992–2005)
One if not the best British television comedy series ever
8 May 1999
"As time goes by" is one, if not the, best British comedy series ever seen by these eyes! My parents introduced me to the program after viewing it when living in Northern Ireland for a winter. We all love the show. The relationship between the lead characters seem so genuine! The humour is quick yet not forced. Conversations and situations are realistic enough for the viewer to relate to, yet are far from mundane.

There are only 2 sit-coms that I will set the VCR to tape if I am unavailable, "As time goes by", and American "Frasier".

I have seen the complete run of "As time goes by" twice now. It is wonderful to view it daily, commercial-free on public television. I only wish there were double the episodes.

There are so few decent television programs today (I sound ancient when I say that but am not). A gem like "As time goes by" is a treat; must-see-t.v.
