Hand In Hand Should be on VHS or DVD
19 August 2005
Hand in Hand shows that friendship can surpass any other barrier. It also shows how a child feels when he discovers that people are different. This is an excellent movie which should be put on either VHS or DVD This is a movie that helps both children and older people understand differences between people of different backgrounds. Michael wants to be Rachels friend and then he discovers how different their backgrounds are and feels that his friendship with Rachel is threatened because of that fact. I saw this movie when it first came out in 1961 and saw it again when it was shown on the Children's Film Festival in 1967 and again in 1968 and 1972. I have not seen it since but I can recall the scenes and the duologue as if I had gone seen the movie yesterday.I would not hesitate to recommend this movie to anyone

Warning on how population control can get out of hand
8 April 1999
The Last Child is an excellent movie which was classified as science Fiction and shows how irrational demand for the control of population can get out of hand and how one couple was willing and able to defy an unjust law so that the law could be changed

Forrest Gump (1994)

A proof that anybody can be something
21 March 1999
Forrest Gump goes a long way to prove that anybody can be something, and he receives some help along the way, when young Hanna Hall protects him from the bullies, and then when he conquers handicaps to be a football star. The one weakness is a chronological inaccuracy--the former Alabama Governor George Wallace tried to prevent the integration of the University of Alabama in June of 1963 and then President Kennedy receives Forrest Gump as an all American. But the 1963 season was still in progress when President Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas,so he couldn't have met Forrest Gump at the White House as an All American the same year

A girl is evacuated to America at the start of World WarII and returns to England after the war
21 March 1999
This is a wonderful film, which tells how a little girl who was exiled from England to Connecticut at the start of World War II returns to England after the war and is unable to adjust because she tries to apply what she learned in America and everything she does is misinterpreted. There are some delightful scenes such as the time when mother and daughter play hide and seek with their son, and the time when the only one who is kind to Rusty helps her with her Latin.
