Not That Bad!!!! full of action
7 July 2000
I thought that it was a really good film, and had strange creatures, but what did any normal monster movie person think when they first saw the title...? Actually, this is more of a G version of what the Troma studio usually produces, so people have to know Troma before the judge harshly the Troma film Nymphoid Barbarian. I thought that it kept my attention since it did have many strange creatures. This is not a Blockbuster movie, but I thought it was a good movie. It was not Heavy on Plot but it had some plot to deal with. I recommend this Troma film to the more less Gore oriented monster lovers. it is not your gross Dead-Alive type movie. More Greek Mythological type movie in more of a B range....

SMOG does look like Trash beast
20 June 1999
I saw this movie a long time ago with my family at the drive in. I was so young then, I would like any type of monster no matter how cheezy. Well, today I guess I am almost the same. I liked this movie. The save the earth song sort of drove me up the walls, but the nasty trashy lakes and streams seem to hit home as far as what our world looks like for real today. Anyway, back to the action. I loved the silly looking Smog beast that was a mess. I thought a very funny part was when Godzilla somehow began flying backwards, I really didn't get this part, but it was fun. I like Godzilla, sci fi, B horror, G horror, it does not matter. I would recommend this to any Godzilla crazed fan that have not seen it. I also would really like to recommend two more good giant beast movies: War of the Gargantuas and also Gamera: Guardian of the Universe. I really enjoyed the green Gargantua in the first one( if you see this one just take a close look at the Green one's face-He is awful ugly like a beast should be), and I liked the camera work in the second movie. It was really high tech and should both of them hit DVD ever, I will be getting them both. Well make that all three including Godzilla vs the Smog Monster...........

WHAT A MESS!!!!
19 June 1999
If you are going to have a gruesome beast like the one pictured on the cover of the DVD, don't have so many supporting actresses and actors that are pure idiots. The beast was seen here and there and was very vague. It was set in an all girls college, so why was a man the leading actor and the so called hero of everyone. The B in B horror on this one would be bore......Don't like the DVD, so you can buy it from me and see for yourself.......Why did they put this on DVD anyway?

Cheezy, but What's so wrong with Cheeze every once in a while?
19 June 1999
I have seen this movie before and right away you know that it is a large man rampaging through a miniature city. But....who says the imagination has to florish on common every day stuff. I thought it was really funny and compared the flik to Attack of the 50 foot woman. It also borrowed some orchestration chords from my all time favorite child hood monster flik WAR OF THE GARGANTUAS. Every once in a while we all feel the need to see something cheezy and not common. This movie is that type of movie. We know it is not real and just a dream, but why knock it? I wish it would come to DVD. I am a collector of Cheezy horror movies from the 50's, 60's and other eras. Die hard Gozilla fans will get a kick out of this movie. I personally thought War of the Gargantuas really represented what a real hideous beast should look like. If the Studios in Japan ever read this comment, please put War of the Gargantuas on DVD!!!!
