Not terrible low-budget film
kayhansen117 September 2021
Not bad if you can ignore the low budget, indie ... um ... Pittsburgh stripmall esthetic and the getting-to-know-you montages with original (I guess?) but annoyingly stock-musicesque soundtrack.

I kept watching because it's an earnest little film.

The main characters were likable and, since it was listed as a sci-fi film, I knew it was building to a potentially interesting premise about fate and chance and randomness. And I was kind of invested.

Decent (in fact, better than decent) acting. Especially by the main characters.

For their next film(for which they'll, hopefully, have a bigger budget) ...

-better audio -more nuanced soundtrack -more subtle (or polished? I'm not sure which since I'm not a film student) scene transitions.

It was a sweet and relatable love sorry.

Not a big deal but ... I found the doctor's yellow-framed glasses a weird and pointless distraction.

Good lead actress, surprisingly good soundtrack, but...

There's not much else to commend this film.

I don't think it's either as good or as bad as some reviewers are saying. The story, in itself, isn't bad, but it plods along at a slower pace than is necessary, and the dialogue at points doesn't seem realistic.

Rosie Koster, who plays Jessica, gives a very good performance, but the rest of the cast isn't particularly believable. But for a film that obviously had a small budget, it has a very good soundtrack.

Dreadful

Utterly. Dreadful. One extra star for being a student film. The lead was an okay actor, but nearly everyone else was completely stilted and unnatural. The movie was also at least 45 minutes too long. If the director had picked up the glacial pace, and the editor removed all the unnecessary pauses and gaps in the tedious dialogue, this might've been a decent short. I honestly can't understand why I didn't bail in the first ten minutes;I guess I was just hopeful some interesting Sci-Fi twist would be my reward. Nope.

Five minutes in, had to fight from dozing off, yet still finished the movie. The main leads have zero chemistry and feel forced. The script is a bunch of nonsense that has nothing to do for most of the movie, until the last 15 minutes. Scenes drag on forever with no purpose. The acting portray no emotions and is monotonous. Each line falls flat. The time skips are out of place and just scream amateur production. We don't get to the primary plot until the last 15 minutes, and even then, the dialogue struggles to not slide into cliche supernatural tropes. There's no saving this movie. Worst movie I've ever seen.
