The safecracker (I think) was clearly not efficient enough for the team from the start. He had more of a background than the others on the team character-wise and he knew Daisy. There's a possibility he also had more dialogue too. He would've either gotten too greedy and non-professional by not sticking to the plan that would've ended up working, or done so or something similar on purpose on someone's orders. The ending was expected.
