I watched it all for the sake of it, had nothing better to do.
This anime really did fall a bit limp. The central character is pretty hard to watch, constant over dramatic monologues about his destiny. Found "the gang" to be a fairly lifeless dynamic, everybody has their dry, assigned role and nobody ever deviates much.
The dialogue on the whole was pretty poor, I don't know if it's a cultural thing or a lost in translation, but a lot of the conversations just seemed dumb and the sort of thing that a 7 year old would find cool. It just felt so hollow, like an anime that was just going through the motions of "oh our hero!" dialogue.
The show does bring good visuals to the table but even then the CG style can get a bit weird at times, frame rate for motion varies pretty heavily and came look a bit clunky... while at other times they overanimate some frames.
I'd say the most interesting bits for myself where when the main characters weren't around. The political/police side of things was interesting and I enjoyed that a lot more than the school kids.
Maybe I signed up for it by choosing something aimed at teenagers? I don't know. But I expected better, it honestly makes me question this world when someone was hired to actually write and produce this thing. Money shouldn't be funding projects like these - it's a waste.
