A must watch film
murreyanne13 May 2023
I was excited to watch this film and see how it portrayed the experience of people with mixed cultural backgrounds. I was surprised by how the film tackled serious issues with humor and grace, making it entertaining and thought/provoking. The film explored complex matters concerning race, identity, and social justice. One thing that stood out to me is how this film explores the differences between identity and belonging. The characters came from different backgrounds and races but were united by their desire to be seen for who they were. The film did an excellent job of showing the struggles people of color face in a world that often does not appreciate their contributions.

The film is just a work of art the way it starts with the black and white lighting of the set showing the theme of oppression and being suppressed. And if one watches the film they can depict a lot of themes and learn a lot. I was struck by how the film portrayed the struggles and triumphs of people who are ignored by the community. The film tackles sensitive topics with honesty and sensitivity and does not shy away from exploring the complexities of these issues. The aspect that I appreciated was how it showcased gender and sexuality. The female characters were complex and multifaceted, and each had unique experience and challenges.

I highly recommend this film to anyone looking for a thoughtful and entertaining exploration of identity and belonging. It is a powerful and important film that sheds light on some of the most pressing issues of our time, and it does so with skill, sensitivity, and grace.
