Quite an entertaining and hilarious parody of The Last Supper.
CasuallViewer7 July 2019
What if The Last Supper went in a different way than what people actually know about according to what's written in the bible? That's basically the premise of this comedy film. An entertaining take of the biblical version on what happens during the last day of Christ with his disciples, this story is simply a fun watch with an even funnier conclusion.

If you don't mind a little dark humor parody, then go see this film.

When satire is made on religion, I prefer it to be based on a sharp intelligence and not just crude.

Making fun of religion is something I greatly appreciate. Especially on the illogicalities and contradictions in the nature and content of religion. I think parodies of religious characters are also a great thing. But this movie just makes me feel like a group of weed lovers who think they are smarter than they are, made a skit about what it would be like if religious figures were like them. People who like to party, are fond of women and getting high, and have a crude sense of humor. Perhaps, the fact that they portray the evil figure in religion as a sane ordinary person may be evidence of how superior they subconsciously see themselves to decent people. It's not particularly bad, but on the other hand, it doesn't have much to praise about. One inevitably compares it to Life of Brian, which stands out in this field, and this work is inferior to that film.

I'd love for this to be accidentally broadcast on prime time TV in the US.

Extremely snappy (you've got to be quick with the subtitles), almost constantly hilarious and wonderfully irreverent satire on the last supper. It's forty-four minutes long and I don't want to spoil any of the gags by describing them, but there are plenty of individual set-pieces, such as the contest between Jesus and a conjuror and the commemorative painting; and running gags such as the tiger in the toilet and the James that no one likes.

A good laugh

A fun movie about the 'last supper'. If only more movies could be made showing how all religions should be laughed at then the world would be a nicer place. People take religion so serious and it's a real shame. Lighten up!

Surprisingly funny and effective humour, I didn't expected such a well packed number of good jokes and ingenious reinterpretation of the last supper.

Very Disrespectful
wardkayla-7312215 December 2020
Very disrespectful to Christianity. Say what you want about us being brainwashed, but it is really rude to make fun or portray Jesus in that light.

Very funny, clever, irreverent. It reminded me Seth Rogen movies in some way. Jesus is hilarious and the female cast did a wonderful job as well.

unnecessary disrespect

I can understand how people who dislike the christain faith would enjoy this movie, for me I don't believe in god but I still think this type of movie can really hurt people who do believe. It would be like telling a child Santa claus doesn't exist, no one ever makes movies like this about any other faith so why has it become so acceptable exclusively for the christains? The movie it's self in all honestly wasn't very well acted, the plot was sub-par, and most of the jokes were really cheesy or they were men't to be told in Portuguese and lost most of the comical value in translation to English. Either way if the subject was anything else I think this production would be swept under the rug.

Ok... You may like it, but it won't be fun if you're a Christian
ndfilho5 November 2021
The comedy is free and should always be, I know... but the content hurts and spreads hate in a way to those who have their faith.

Either way, it will appeal to a generation of people who don't care about the faith of others, and also don't tolerate free speech when the offense get back to them.

La última cena reimaginada
patopeters30 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
45 minutos de puro humor, tomando como base la historia de la última cena. Alcohol, drogas, prostitutas y romanos en una muy divertida reimaginacion de un episodio de la Biblia. Altamente recomendable, menos para los fanáticos religiosos.

The Pythons below the Equator

Such a creative interpretation of the story! Sure, it started as the fundamentalist Christians say: as some jokes with a biblical background. In the end it proved to be far more creative, than just a joke.

A very good satire! You don't have to be an atheist or antichrist to laugh, don't take it so seriously!

Ultimately disappoints

Warning: Spoilers
"The Last Hangover" is a fairly new Netflix production, a short film directed by Rodrigo Van Der Put that runs for slightly under 45 minutes and is a Brazilian production in the Portuguese language. And as you may or may not guess from the photo here on imdb, this one is a little spoof of Jesus' Lastg Supper mixed with the recent comedy classic The Hangover. Well, it could have been interesting and funny I suppose, but eventually in my opinion, it is not. It is not particularly offensive as it could have been being verfy much anti-religion, but it is a tolerable watch from this perspective. Maybe, actually taking this route would not have been the worst decision because there could have been some edgy material this way, some controversy, but instead they were playing it really safe here and the outcome is fairly boring admittedly. As for the cast, unless you are very interested in South American films, you will not know any of the actors. Even if you are Brazilian, chances are high you have never come across any cast members here. Maybe a more established and experienced director and writer other than RVDP could have turned it into better quality I don't know, but in my opinion it shows occasionally that this is his first filmmaking effort overall. Now I have seen really excellent rookie efforts by filmmakers, but sadly this is not one of these. I must say given the country of production and language, I am pretty surprised to see Netflix attached here. Not their wisest choice perhaps. In my opinion, this film dragged way too quickly and for such a short work, it is even worse to make such a statement that applies. Overall, this is not a failure, but far from being as funny as I would want it to be for a positive recommendation. Watch something else instead. It's not a creative parody by any means.

Why didn't I think of combining the Last Supper and the Hangover, first???
Green-Bubble16 November 2019
This is GENIOUS! Amazing comedy, incredible laughs, and what a GREAT combination of the two stories. I couldn't stop laughing. Don't be affected by the 6.4 rating, there are many angry Christians among the reviewers.

Hey James! Not, you, the other James..
miinty9 October 2019
This movie is so funny, the jokes are fast and quick and plentiful and wrong and very 'unPC'. My only "complaint" is that this Brazilian Portuguese is so fast (and I consider myself a fast reader) but for some reason, I spent more time reading than looking at the picture, but even with that, I still loved it. I wished it was longer. So funny.

It's humorous only if you are braindead. Low quality humor used to mock christians all over the world. Don't waste your time, even if you want yo watch it as a comedy, it doesn't worth it.
