The Passing Bell is a good traditional Father Brown mystery, with a good mystery, a good set of characters, and the usual magical set of production values.
It's a little formulaic you could argue, in a Murder she wrote sense in that it's the bad guy you expect to be killed that gets done in. Mervyn Glossop was a little too obvious as the bad guy.
I liked the mystery, and liked the feel of the story, not a typical mystery in the usual sense, but a well crafted episode. Selina Griffiths as always was terrific. I still picture Margaret Meldrew.
