I always loved this show and and it was pretty awesome until Abby was gone, then I really didn't know where the writers were taking this and I didn't feel too confident. Last season was alright and the end was promising, but after seeing the first episode of this season now I feel they're getting back on the right track...keep going guys, keep going!!!

Just awesome another great start of new season! Just when you think it cant hit the fence anymore it does. Extremely high hopes for this season and all its caracters. And as always so happy to see Mick again and to see he's still in the game.

Warning: Spoilers
Ray Donovan is one of those random finds of mine that I have held very dear to my heart. I have loved this show for many years and will always love it no matter what. Personally I have felt for a while that the show had been getting stale, especially since abby left. But this premier has brought me back a bit. I got more of the original ray donovan feel, but with a mixture of new things. It felt like this epidode gave a breath of fresh air into the show, and I hope that the rest of the season follows through. Last thoughts, Mickey was my favorite character. If they really pulled an abby with him I'll be sad, but it shocked me so I have to hand it to the writers

By Far One of the best Crime/Drama series in a LONG time

Liev MAKES the character Ray! I started watching this just out of curiosity- never even heard of it. Had only seen Liev once due to Wolverine... HOOKED- found myself watching it till 3 & 4 am just to get through an entire series!!! So crazy hooked!!! Had to get through them for tonight. A little sad to see his wife go. But it makes it all real. Keep up the good work Guys! Absolutely love it. I will say I miss Avi! Love Lena!

Well over due for several things that occur and just gets better as it goes. I know not everyone agrees and I'm really sorry for that! Happy that Ray is trying different things to calm himself and the soundtrack is greatness!

Best beginning to a new season. The four leaf clover playing a important part in this episode.

Great start to the new series but I think reviewer magnum-ajt has jumped the gun though by only watching episode one before writing a review. Hope it continues this way.

Not a good start
silverton-3795928 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Season7, episode 1 should have been given a little more of an attention grabbing revelation than having one of the heads hooked by a fisherman in the bay. The medical examiner says that there is an entrance wound but no exit wound but the exit wound is the entire lower jaw blown out on one side. There couldn't have been a bullet still in the head unless Mick had shot the guy more than once. He didn't, btw. This is very lazy, careless writing.

The same carelessness was rampant in the last season finale. If you recall, the burial in Sandy's back yard was deep enough, and they had a dead racoon to plant for the methane probe to find, but Darryl just threw it in with the other bodies instead of burying it near the surface.

Also, last season, Mick stopped rinsing the garage floor while there was still a big pool of blood that needed to be washed down the floor drain. These writers are clumsy and careless and the director obviously doesn't care whether the viewers can suspend disbelief or not.

I'm more than a little disappointed so far. The nonsense with the shrink and with Terry's alternate medicine treatment just hijacks the storyline. It looks as though the writers are trying to make it up one episode at a time. We'll see as the season progresses, I suppose.

New Season starts with a dud

Poor start to a new season, if this had been episode 1 of season 1, i probably would never have watched episode 2. Hopefully the show gets back to its normal excellence.

Not happy with that decision at all. Not with the most entertaining character.
