Beginning of the journey in Vientiane: Sacha meets Chanhvilay, a French professor, her guide and Lao teacher: they run through the "Champs Elysées" of Vientiane, they visit a pagoda (Chanhvilay explains the importance of the Buddhism in Laos), they meet Inti , a young entrepreneur who manages restaurants and hotels, they go the New Laos National Stadium (there are now Southeast Asian Games) and later Sacha plays kick volleyball (in Laos called Kataw) with some Laotian friends.At the Mekong river Sacha meets Khampouy, a boat captain who speak about the important of the Mekong in the economical life of Laos.Before arriving at Luang Prabang they see female gold seekers at the shores of the river.At Luang Prabang Sacha visits a pagoda, meets Tchoua , a Buddhist monk who explains why Laotian men spend some years as Buddhist monks (they get a good education).Sacha visit then the market with Joy , a chef, they see banana flowers and many other vegetables.They speak also about insects a very common food in Laos.Then Sacha visits a place where there are domestic elephants and also a center for the conservation of the elephants.Later Sacha goes up the Mekong with Bokram to the village of Muang Seung: Sacha is invited to the family reunion, a celebration with many flowers, cakes and cotton wristbands and last stop at a Hmong village where a shaman is making a ceremony to protect the houses against the bad spirits.Finally Sacha and Bokram , as goodbye meeting go fishing in the Mekong River.
