When the children are saying the Pledge of Allegiance, they appropriately do not say "under God" since that phrase was not added until 1954 during the Cold War to differentiate the "godless communists" from the "faithful capitalists."
The "Spirit of St. Louis" used is a 100% accurate, flying reproduction of the original Ryan NYP, built by volunteers at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in Red Hook, N.Y. (with technical assistance from the National Air and Space Museum, where the original "N-X-21" resides).
