This introductory episode starts slowly but gets thrilling about 2/3 through. The cast seems to fit, especially Moraine Sedai and Lan Mandragoran. There are some changes from the book.
Those reviews which tell you this is flawless are best dismissed, as well as those reviews which tell you this is worthless. This story spanned 14 volumes, some of them pretty thick, and passing judgement after less than an hour is premature.
An exposition of the world of the Wheel of Time was necessary and it inevitably took some patience. I was willing to invest this patience and in the end I was happy I spent an hour watching this episode... especially since I already had Amazon Prime and had therefore already paid for it. I'm looking forward to the next one, which should involve less in the way of slow exposition and, I would expect, might be a little faster moving.
Not perfect but not at all bad either.
