When Alvez and Simmons fire at the Unsub's van their bullets are shown making sparks upon striking the rear doors. However copper jacketed bullets (which is what the FBI and pretty much everyone uses) do not make sparks when hitting metal nor any other material.
When Alvez and Simmons fire their sidearms at the Unsub the actions on their pistols do not cycle, making it obvious they are using non-guns (props).

At about 11 minutes in the medical examiner refers to the injuries on the bodies as "perimortem" and then explains that it means "before death." The term "perimortem" actually refers to injuries inflicted at or near the time of death. The correct term for "before death" is "antemortem," which a licensed medical examiner should know.
