What an incredible documentary! I have loved watching the Doug Anthony All Stars since my teenage years so discovering that they broke up in the '90's because of Tim's illness was a mind-blowing revelation. This program shows the intense struggle that Tim and his DAAS compatriots go through to get on stage but also the beauty of compassion and bravery they all display.
I loved the reminiscence over the early days of riotous and chaotically anarchic (but ultimately nihilistic) displays of comedy. They were truly a force like nothing that had ever been seen before, or since. I'm so impressed and inspired to see Paul McDermott, Tim Ferguson and Paul Livingston bringing a newly eye-opening and brilliantly funny show to people around the world. I hope I'll have a chance to see it myself!
Honestly, if you don't watch any other documentary this year, even if you have never heard of The Doug Anthony All Stars, then you should make an exception and watch this. Brilliant!
