Redder!
LordofArt18 February 2019
The 6th season gets redder by the episode. How long will Red battle for his life in court? Anyways, we await the decision of the jury. Plus, the judge seems to be a lovely woman. And why wasn't Red given a jury of his peers? And I'm yet to understand how Red used up all his peremptory strikes. Soon, we'll see what's up the sleeves of the writers of this show.

Absolutely love Red's remarks to the Court - his "Theater of the Absurd" comment as well as his commentary on society's dumbing-down, how many chose to reject facts & are no longer amenable to the truth: Bravo! Red was channeling the late Gore Vidal perhaps.

This Place Is Bugged

Aside from the mega-creepiness, the trial goes on, this time with jury selection. The whole process is fast and imprecise. We know who the villains are and they are succeeding for now. The bug guy is about as nuts as one can get. His environmental belief have some validity (we are destroying important pollinating creatures), but his solutions are quite over the top. Raymond is getting desperate. For some reason, Elizabeth is helping him as a conduit to the task force, even though she wants him to spill his guts or die. HIs crazy little friend who works at the DMV serves no purpose here. Dembe is becoming the true hero here.

Very annoying music

Warning: Spoilers
I understand it was meant to sound like insects, but I found it irritating.

Also, reviewers are always complaining that The Blacklist portrays Christians negatively. Well, they also do the same to environmentalists. If they're not terrorists, they're stupid.

Another week of sly digs at the government of the time.

Running out of ideas

The 6th series is actually a schizophrenic mix of boring courtroom drama with horror movie. Every opening scene is gory and disgusting more than the previous, perhaps hinting that the audience is getting younger and more dumbed down, as mentioned by Reddington himself.

We know that Red can talk his way out of everything, but in a courtroom the risk is of him being excessively verbose, as proved by episode after episode in this dismal series.

And yes, we do not care about who is the "real" Reddington. Since he lived 30 years in his shoes and even his ex wife mistook him for Ray (sure, that happened...) we care just about the adventures of this man and not his past.

Why Sould I Care? B O R I N G

I don't care about Liz's search for who Reddington is? Why should I? This sort of garbage and boring script occurs when the writers have been downgraded so far that the next level is second graders. Just cancel this lousy show and ease our pain.

Too much for me.

Warning: Spoilers
With all the insects, I found this episode too horrific for me. I just had to take my eyes off the screen every time the insects were shown. Enough said.
