A solid short film
sambest196 March 2020
This film is enticing and intense right to the very end. The cinematography helps to build the drama as it unfolds.

It's well written and focuses on a real problem we have worldwide, particularly in men, suicide. This subject needs to be approached in the right way and talked about and this film does that whilst adding some humour along the way.

The acting is very good by both men and keeps you engaged throughout. In a way it's a shame it's a short movie as I'm sure they could keep you engaged for much longer. But with the time they have they tell the story very well.

Overall not a bad effort at all and I look forward to seeing more of what Lee can write. As a first rodeo my hat off to you kind sir.

Best Short Film

This is truly the Best Short Film I've ever seen! It is fully concise in its storytelling, story arc, character development & message. One always knows where they stand, in viewing this very tight film, if not how it will end. It's a hard thing to tell a fully complete & gripping story within the Short Film genre.... but it is done with aplomb by writer Lee Hunter & brought to life by both actors, Anthony Lewis & Lee Hunter.

A sensitive but real approach to male suicide

Warning: Spoilers
What I loved about On My Own is the way it approached the subject of male suicide. It made the awkward action of talking to someone in need relatable and believable. Excellent performances, especially from Lee Hunter. Strongly recommended.
