Cost-Benefit

Yeah sure Liz, getting Red sentenced to death and possibly corrupting Ressler are costs worth the benefit of getting Red's real identity... This story arc is really giving me the sh**s.

Red needs Denny Crane more than ever
cpotato10109 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The government is going after him with the T word.

Both of the two stories are more interesting this time.

Red is out to get info from someone he knows, who is being held in some psychiatric hospital. So Red has himself committed for a sanity evaluation in preparation for his upcoming trial. He does get his info, but it will only become clear in a future episode what the importance of the information is.

Meanwhile Liz tracks a blacklist case of a serial killer who has a rather unique rational for his deeds. Liz gets her info, but at a cost, to herself.

So now we are all set for Red to go to trial, on what could be the first of many charges. Liz is one step closer to finding out who Red is/was.

While having two stories in the episode makes both of them thinner that if this were one story, the pacing is good, and both stories hold your interest.

Stuck in the Mud

Here's a quiz. Based on this show, name three worthless characters. Answer: Elizabeth, Elizabeth, and Elizabeth. I cannot think of one redeeming quality for her. One the one hand, she cries over Reddington, and then she is off to find out who he "really is." Even that sick half sister of hers is getting tired of her. I guess we're to believe that she is the nut that falls near the tree and isn't responsible. Ressler now knows why she should be fired immediately. Whatever she is, she shouldn't be working with the FBI anymore. She is as much a murderer as any psycho on this show. The whole thing with Reddington and former "Practice" friend Lisa Gay Hardin, is telling. She gives a pretty fair evaluation of him.

Seriously?

Are we going to spend the entire season doing whatever is necessary, legal or extremely illegal, to find out who he was 30 years ago?? I mean, this is getting ridiculous. Thank God for RR and his character and the incredible acting from JS! Not sure if I can handle anymore of Elizabeth and the run around with her so-called step sister. Past ridiculous

What's the endgame?

Thank God for James Spader. He makes the show. But what is happening to the story line? What in the world can be agent Keene's end game? Expose Reddington he's a fraud? Really, there has to be some other more logical and less backstabbing way than throwing Red in jail, facing the death penalty? The unrealistic storyline and the poor acting of Boone does not help making this thread any more realistic. I continue to watch for the funny dialogues Red has and the plans he comes up with. I awarded this episode with 5 stars only...9 if Boone wasn't there. Without Spader it would have been a 1 for me. Writers.....bring some better writing. Director....focus less on agent Keene's plan!

What has happened to this show?

Ridiculous story lines involving Elizabeth and her "sister". That story arc just needs to go in the dustbin. Keen's decision making for the past two seasons has just been laughable, involving her "sister' in cases and jeopardizing whole operations. I mean, if the plot lines weren't ridiculous enough before (which we were able to forgive), these whole new story arcs just make me want to browse the internet, or write reviews while the show is airing just to keep me from pulling out my hair.

I keep watching but these two broads need to get a life. I want to stop watching but I still have hope for Reddington. Will keep on for awhile. Liz is so ugly to me
