Every comic book superhero needs a supervillian

Warning: Spoilers
That is the only way to watch this version of MacGyver.

Although there are comic books/graphic novels that are much better written than this.

Some of the lesser versions of the Superman/Superboy comics were always bringing back Lex Luthor tho threaten our superhero.

Or maybe it was some other villain of the week, but they were always kidnapping Lana Lang/Lois Lane. Poor Stacy Haiduk (Lana Lang on "Superboy" 1988-1992), it seems she was always being victimized, but she is the only reason I continued to watch the show.

Here it gets a little more complex, Murdock's son has been kidnapped, so he has to kidnap 'Nasha' to get MacGyver's help.

There is a lot more talking in this episode, not so much "MacGyvering'

Unfortunately, the one big stunt is so much B.S.

Mac, Murdoc, and Mrs. Murdoc (Amber) need to rob an armored truck. Mac's idea to open this tin can is to somehow use compressed air to force the door open.

His method is to seal the truck's gun ports with thermite, and push air from some big tank through another opening.

What is bad is that he is using a plastic hose to push the air into the truck, and the opening was sealed with something like plummer's putty. Neither one would hold up to enough pressure to break steel hinges/rivets.

While David Dastmalchian does his usual oily bad guy as 'Murdoc', what is new is Sarah Sokolovic as 'Amber', who may be nastier than 'Murdoc'. The two have a rather intense reunion, one of the better male vs. female fights of the show.

One oversight - there is no cast listing for the stuntwoman who had to have taken some of that beating.

A philosophic question - I know they would not have Mac kill Murdoc, despite the talk, but if you were Mac would you at least consider permanently disabling Murdoc so he could not hurt anyone else?
