Forty-one newspapers would not fill up a wagon of that size. The folded newspapers would have just a slightly greater volume than the bundle. There has to be at least 200 newspapers in the wagon.
Sheldon noted to Missy that it would take him about 6 months to pay back the $200 his dad spent to have the fridge put back together. This means that Sheldon made about $7.69 a week from the route (assuming all the money he made from it went to his dad), which broke down to 19 cents a customer. A paper route for a major newspaper (assumingly, due to him doing it every day, and noting the size of the Sunday paper) with 40 customers back in 1989/1990 paid at least three times that amount, not including tips.
