A cadaver dog reacts to the trunk of the killer's car. But, when he later confesses and recounts the details of Shania's murder, he explains that he forced her - at gunpoint - to walk to the river bank where he then shot her and stood on her neck until she died. He left her there and this is where her body was recovered. Her body was never in the trunk of the killer's car so there was no explanation for the cadaver dog's reaction.
