Trapped By The Internet
The title of this 50+ minute documentary refers to the victim, Elodie Morel, being duped by a man on-line, with fatal consequences. She thought she was going to meet a woman but instead met Guillaume Mingquad, a convicted double rapist and sexual sadist.
Although all the interviewees are speaking in French, the monoglot will have no difficulty following it as everything is translated simultaneously. There is archive footage from the courtroom where Mingquad stood trial along with his co-defendants whose crime was apathy. If that isn't a statute in France, it should be. A truly bizarre case all round, but at least justice was done.
