Behind all the melodrama and woes of the poor, we have a beautiful message - success and geniuses can come from anywhere. Very good story but the pacing could've been better.

Very touching and inspiring movie worth watching. Familiar cast but they performed like never before with new comers. Really appreciate the crew, the director, writer, photographer and the musician for the bgm which brings out the essence of the story.

PAKKRU THE MAN OF INSPRITATION

This is a simple yet enchanting story of a family,whose journey is as beautiful .After coming from the theatre hall,these characters are staying in our mind.Guiness Pakru whom we see in comic-centric roles was really good.Even proving that this was like a well tailored role for him to enact.The kids were really good and ,is a great portrayal indeed.I really hope people would watch this movie and enjoy.

There is not enough words to describe the content and perfection about this movie. This movie is truly a reflection to every ordinary individuals life , it's a movie which makes us realize the hardwork , pain & love of parents to bring up their children even at poor circumstances. Also making us realize that there are many hidden young talents surrounding us despite the living situations. The story line surely brings in true emotions & also an eye-opener to all our young talents. I never even thought about signing up for IMDb and writing a review but then this movie truly deserves it. Respect to all the cast , crew and direction. 10/10

A must watch

Such simple, yet powerful movies are a rarity nowadays. This movie depicts the life of Vanajan who keeps his family intact despite poverty and huge debt. Nonetheless, his kids are very talented (just as his father) and life takes a turn, when their hidden talents are recognized unintentionally by the outside world.

The story moves smoothly and does not seem off track at any point. It shows that God helps those, who help themselves.

The songs are also quite pleasing to the ears.

Worth a watch.

Ilayaraja (English: given Malayali name; Younger King) is about hidden talent in kids and yet it aims so high with its pitch that it becomes a preachy tale of how talent can help you pay your bills albeit in a not-so-well way with issues in almost all filmmaking departments and especially in the dubbing and editing ones where the director has chosen to take the easy way out. TN.

Beautiful little film

A beautiful little film that have some unnecessary melodramatic elements that is almost like a soap opera. However it still manages to be quite effective through the heart behind it and the wonderful performances. Still it is not close to the two other films made by the same director.

I saw a great potential in the movie, but towards the end you will feel that it could have been done better. There so many good moments, but the bad execution kills it. The dragged events just lets down the plot, they could have easily made the film trimmed, as there were many unnecessary scenes. The message it put forwards is very nice. They meant this one as an inspirational movie, even though it still is, it lacks the lustre that inspirational movies give. The direction and screenplay is a let down. Could have been done better. The cast is bad. The child artists were very imperfect. They were a point of focus, and they gave you that ' we are acting' feeling. The story is good, many unwanted plotlines though. But i think the acting is the culprit. Overall an average movie
