Captain Iijima describes the gun he discovers as a "Chinese Type 54", a locally-produced copy of the Russian Tokarev TT handgun that was widely issued to the People's Liberation Army and People's Armed Police from 1954 through the 2000s.
The side of the gun's barrel bears the marking "Stechkin pistol" in Chinese, however. This, combined with its distinctive shape, indicate that it is actually a Chinese clone of the Stechkin Automatic Pistol, another Russian handgun which was subsequently adopted by the PAP.
