Expecting more flowers
OddlesOfNoodles17 November 2020
This may sound strange but I was expecting to see more flower arrangements. Overall it's a cheesy, predictable movie - nothing special.

The least Christmasy movie of the season
howie1424 December 2018
This film about a floral arrangement competition is extremely lacking in Christmas feelings. There is a 30 second segment where the leads make a holiday arrangement together, but that isn't much.

Please note this was a Lifetime effort, not a Hallmark one. Lifetimes aren't as formulaic, and that is often a good thing. In this case, however, a little more formula would have been helpful.

Overall, the weakest of the 30+ holiday films I have watch this season.

Could have bloomed more but didn't wither
TheLittleSongbird12 December 2021
Lifetime Christmas films are a mixed bag, some are good, some are bad, some are somewhere in between. Few from what has been seen, which has been quite a lot now, are unwatchable though. 'Christmas Arrangement' did leap out at me when hearing of it as something that had a sizeable amount of potential. The idea sounded nice if nothing innovative and Nicky Whelan was more than watchable in all of what has been seen of her work (not enough yet).

'Christmas Arrangement' was to me a quite pleasant and not too bad a film. It didn't bowl me over and it could have done more with the concept, so it doesn't quite bloom in the way that it could have done. 'Christmas Arrangement' doesn't wither either, with a lot of things that work well. It is neither one of Lifetime's best or worst Christmas offerings and somewhere in the middle of those of 2018, instead around solid middle on both counts.

As said, a lot is good here. The film is not lavish, but it doesn't try to do too much stylistically while not being static. The scenery is very pretty to look at. The music doesn't drown out anything, nor does it feel like it's too low key. While the script is not exceptional, it does have some endearingly light-hearted spots.

The story also has a good deal to like about it, despite it being very typical Lifetime in terms of what goes on. It is charming and light-hearted, complete with a warm heart and a good deal of smile-worthy moments. The acting is well above average in amiable enough if not three dimensional roles. Whelan especially carries the film with an easy going charm. Miles Fisher is an amiable partner and the support is fine.

With the exception of agreed the over-egged acting for the annoying Chairwoman. While Whelan and Fisher work well together, the relationship could have been developed more and had more freshness.

Generally the film looked good, but the decorations agreed are very tacky and are under-populated and underused, really do think that more could have been done with the setting and that it could have been more celebratory. One doesn't expect great dialogue from a Lifetime film, and we get a lot of cheesy and saccharine lines instead that don't always flow. The film has very few surprises, typical Lifetime, and the ending struck me as too neat.

Overall, above average but not great. 6/10.

It is the epitome of a day time movie
hallolivia-8788123 November 2020
This film, is beyond average, I made a list of all the cheap tropes of a Christmas/ rom com film and it met almost all of them. It is a boring story with a predictable outcome. It astounds me they still make these type of film. Who enjoys them? The acting was so mediocre and why do so many people in a town care about a flower competition where there's barely any flowers? This film is worth missing.

I watched this movie and I agree it's poorly written. Nicky Whelan acting in other movies is good, but I think they all knew this was a P.O.S, nothing they could have done would have saved it. Comparing this to hallmark, lifetime really needs to stop the cheesy acting scenes (judging, etc.) If your trying to steal their thunder at least try a bit harder in script writing.

Don't waste your time or DVR space

I'm a person who loves cheesy, predictable Christmas movies. The cheesier, the better. This movie does not fit the bill. It is terrible from beginning to end. The acting is pathetic and painful to watch. The main character is sickeningly sweet to the point where it makes her absolutely irritating. The writing is undeniably horrible. Just a bad movie all around. DO NOT WATCH AND WASTE YOUR TIME!

No one ever gives me flowers!
adamjohns-4257519 December 2020
This is your standard competitor Christmas film. The lovers are both trying to win the same competition, but can't help falling in love. There's nothing to specifically distinguish it from the others of its type, but it's not bad at all.

The male lead looks like the love child of Tom Cruise and Christopher Ryan. He is attractive in his way, but a bit Ken Doll.

Generally the acting is all fine with the exception of the chairwoman of the flower show, who is just God awful.

I can't think of anything else to say really, it won't be on the top of my watch again list, but it will be on there somewhere.

Sweet, enjoyable movie
shofman-1419416 December 2018
Contrary to a couple negative reviews here, I found A Christmas Arrangement enjoyable. I watched it on demand after reading the bad reviews, out of curiosity, and am so glad I did. Will definitely watch again, and even buy dvd when available.

Horrible Acting
lll-0550019 December 2018
Really bad acting, especially by the Male lead. Lifetime should have skipped this one. The background music was really loud.

Just awful
bonniejeanne2 December 2018
One of the worst Christmas movies I've seen in a long time. Extremely bad acting of a poorly written script; some really ugly fashion, and hideous floral decorations. All of the judging scenes were ridiculously stupid. I could go on, but I'll stop here. Don't waste your time with this one.

Terrible Acting
kellyrned13 December 2018
This was just awful. I usually give high ratings for TV/Movies that I watch or go see. I recorded this movie while questioning the storyline. However, I went ahead and gave it a chance. She calls her van, Edna, which constantly breaks down, and a guy named Joe comes to her rescue, but is not the love interest. Within the first 2 min, you know who that is, and within the first 10 min she is given a gift of $9k. Really? I exited the movie & deleted it by 12-13 min. Terrible story, horrible acting, and probably the worst movie I've seen on Hallmark. Sorry guys, I love Hallmark but the actors on this show need another course in acting!

Really cringeworthy
a-ross1-941-9270784 December 2021
I must admit I didn't watch much of this movie, but the opening "cute meet" between our leading lady and a dude in a three piece suit (who dresses like that any more?) ..with his Tom Cruise smile... I knew this was gonna be bad. . I stopped the movie and checked him out and ..duh... he's FAMOUS for being a deep fake Tom Cruise. Other than his looks he has nothing to offer acting wise. And he's a flower designer too. Totally cringeworthy.
