The worst Lord of the Rings RPG game ever on Gameboy advance.
crosswalkx2 May 2019
As you know I'm a big Lord of the Rings fan I've have played many Lord of the Rings games, but the 1994 Super Nintendo game I've played wasn't as bad as this piece of junk this gameboy advance game is.

You see the opening to Bilbo Baggins birthday party, he disappears, Gandalf tells him to leave the ring behind and gives it to Frodo Baggins. Then the game begins.

First of all you have these tedious fetch quests in order to get strength, HPs, second you walk around slowly in 8 directions, seriously couldn't Black Label program them to run faster.

The turn based battle system is the worst of them all, hell, even Final Fantasy 1 on NES was better than this tedious clunky battle you have to endure. When you fight enemies you have less than a 50 percent chance of hitting one and you often miss. You don't get to carry much healing items. I usually run away from battles, thank god there's no random encounters.

You do get to meet Tom Bombadil and deal with old man willow. But you have to deal with tedious puzzles that takes forever to solve. Aragon does meet with you and so does Legolas, Gimli, Boromir and Gandalf that fights with you making the fights slightly easier.

Now the worst part about this game is the annoying damn glitches, even game breaking glitches like the infamous Mines of Moria freeze glitch that makes you reset the game over and over. You can use a trick to bypass the glitch, but man that glitch just ruined the game for me.

The game ends once you escaped the Mines of Moria but it skips over to Boromir attempting to steal the ring from Frodo and then the eye of Sauron is shown and then ends on a cliffhanger and the credits play the end.

I can't believe how rushed this glitchy, broken gameboy advance is! This is pretty much a broken game, Nintendo company and Black Label company should've prevented Pocket Studios from rushing out this game. Also the JRR Tolkien estate and the Tolkien family members should've sued Pocket Studios for making a bad JRR Tolkien video game. Better yet this game should've been recalled and destroyed or recycled in the landfill. I'm very angry about this game! Hell even Bubsy 3D wasn't this bad, if anything, this game should no longer be available in used video game stores or online stores.

If you want a great Lord of the Rings experience play the Playstation 2 or Xbox version of Fellowship of the Ring, you actually get to enjoy playing it and enjoy the cgi cutscenes. Also play the EA games the Two Towers, The Return of the King based on the movies, Also Play the Sierra game War of the Rings on PC and The Hobbit on Gamecube, PS2, Xbox, PC or even play the Lego Lord of the Rings. Those games are worth you time. Skip this Gameboy advance piece of junk. I hope one day, this game becomes unavailable to find.
