Day 19. Sartaj's constable, Katekar (Jitendra Joshi), is pressured (by the boy's mother) to investigate the case of a young man Shamsul from a Muslim slum who was found missing for many days, he finds a relation between the boy and a theft in nearby society. 3 boys killed an elderly couple and robbed them.
Having tried to find a link between his father and Gaitonde, Sartaj Singh turns to his mother but comes back without an answer. His mother insists that Dilbagh never did anything wrong in his entire life. Meanwhile, Zoya uses her police links with Parulkar (Zoya sleeps with Parulkar) to get her blackmailing boyfriend Karan in trouble. She uses the "dog murder" in the first scene of the first episode as a point of leverage against him. Karan is arrested at Dubai airport for illegal possession of drugs.
Katekar tracks the missing boy (Shamsul) to be part of a small-town gang from a Muslim-majority slum Bengali Bura, of modern-day Mumbai. Shamsul's mother tells him that Shamsul has been missing for 10 days now. The gang had conducted a robbery in a nearby society and had presumably killed Shamsul as he was not a core member (Shamsul's body was found in a gutter). Sartaj Singh and his team of cops go after these thugs and the situation ends up getting violent in which one of the boys cuts Katerkar's neck to escape. Katekar dies as well as all the hoodlums as part of a countermeasure. Sartaj has no hesitation this time to shoot the unarmed killer of Katekar, even though he had visions of Junaid, before he pulled the trigger. Katekar's wife is livid with Sartaj as Katekar lived and died for him, while ignoring his wife and his 2 kids in the line of duty. She asks Sartaj to call Katekar as he might pick his call and wake up. Sartaj remembers how Katekar was ever the optimist and wanted to fight crime in the city. He believed that even one moment of peace in the city was worth the effort, though the next morning would bring yet more criminals into the city. Katekar is given a police funeral with full state honors.
Day 17. Anjali and Sartaj are both stuck.
In the meanwhile, back in the 1990s, Ganesh is perplexed about who told Isa that Paritosh was coming alone that day. He is so worried that he becomes impotent. Parulkar provides a video which shows Bada Badariya dancing in Isa's nephew's wedding in Dubai. Gaitonde finds about a traitor among his closest camaraderie (it was Chhota Badaria who hated Bunty, coz Bunty had made survival of Muslims impossible in Gopalmath) and takes action by killing Chhota Badariya and his brother. Ganesh kills Bada, who tells Ganesh that he was angry by Bunty's attitude towards Muslims and that Chhota had no hand in it. Ganesh confronts Chhota at his house, who denies any knowledge of Bada's plot with Isa to kill Paritosh. Ganesh kills Chhota as well. Finally Ganesh is able to have sex with his wife.
Anjali finally figures out that the mysterious man showing up in various situations during the story has links to a known terrorist. She finds that Mathu was poisoned in the hospital. She looks at all the CCTV footage in the hospital. She finds a suspicious character dressed as a doctor entering and exiting Mathu's room. She matches the character to a known terrorist Malcolm Mourad.
