Busy and creative animation
Attraction is a student animation, and it is a very good one; but while watching it, you have to remember that it is a student animation and it is what they can be. I do not mean this in a derogatory way, but more a comment on my personal taste - which is for narrative driven films, less so experimental arty ones. As a result, a film like this can easily be technically very good, thrill its target audience, show off the talent and potential of the maker, but yet be one that I appreciate more than enjoy. Attraction is a bit like that but has enough of a flow about it that I did get into it beyond the technical. The flow of natural shapes and creations gives the film a theme that engages.
The animation and soundscape is what carries it though, and it is impressive in the creation and colour of its images, but even more the intensity of the sound work. It manages to feel overwhelming but yet drawing in me as a viewer (listener) at the same time. Although 'not my thing', I did do more than just appreciate this busy and creative animation.
