A fine end to a cracking series.

Back to episode one, to deal with the unfinished business from episode one.

I've been so impressed by this first series, I've particularly liked the way the story has been told, different plots in each episode, with the sorry arc developed in episode one running through. Some of the events and occurred had seemed implausibly, they manage to tie everything together very nicely.

Terrific acting throughout, Speer's best episode, but plaudits to Jenny Jacques who was absolutely terrific here, a very measured performance.

Am so glad there is a second series to look forward to.

The chase is on!

With Amber having stabbed Billie last time, the police rush around like headless chickens trying to find Amber. Fortunately they are aided by serendipity, a MacGuffin and some giant leaps of logic.

Ignoring these inconsistencies, the story meanders to a satisfactory conclusion albeit coming too close to home for DI Bradford. Vivienne's guilt over BIllie's stabbing makes her more human this time rather than the selfish automaton she has been to-date.

Overall a decent season, nothing spectacular, but with some accusations and a decent lead into season two.

Accept it for What it is

London Kills has 4 main characters: the complex and troubled boss, the tough under appreciated female detective, the guy who gets things done and the well meaning rookie. The actors playing them are excellent although they lapse into stage acting every so often. Plus we get 3 reactionshotsin every scene.

What they have to work with is rather predictable scripts - the killer is almost always the person you think it is 5 minutes in. The show features music that tries to relay the mood and is comically bad. The show uses the same filler scenes over and over. Same extra as a cop reading a file. Over and over.

But, the stories that arc the entire season are pretty good and it holds your interest just enough. There are worse shoes out there.

Decent

This is a decent police procedural. It wont win any awards but it is easy to watch and enjoyable.

It is unfair to blame Vivienne for Billi's actions. Vivienne may be an ice queen but she is not a mind reader. People tell others what they want. Not to mention Billi is a grown woman who should know better than letting a stranger into her personal space as a police woman!!! Very silly move! I have friends/acquaintances that I have known for years that I would never allow to step foot in my home. You cant trust people in this day and age.

The actress that played Amber did a very good job.

Anyways, looking forward to binge watching the next season. Interested to see what will happen with the boss' missing wife.

It has been obvious for some time that Amber Saunders might have had something to do with the death of Tom Price in the opening episode.

She also took a trophy from the victim. She also has the handbag belonging to DI Bradford's wife. It seems Amber is on a mission to harm people and this is connected with her past.

With DC Billie Fitzgerald seriously injured. The police are searching frantically for Amber Saunders but she has DI Bradford in her sights by targeting his step daughter.

The episode in many ways reflects stepfathers. Amber's stepfather was nothing to write home about, DI Bradford's step daughter dislikes him. You are left to wonder if Bradford's wife left him or been murdered.

London Kills certainly improved as it went along although I thought the closing episode of the first series would be stronger than this.

There was something a bit off about it and it might be because the producers were setting up a second series.

In retrospect London Kills despite its lower budget was good enough to be shown in primetime. It was wasted in the afternoon slot because some of the plots were not suitable for daytime television.

unwatchable

Acorn should not produce content. Horrible doesn't cover it and why Speer is the lead character is beyond me. Small is the only one who does at least a bit of acting. The rest, Speer particularly, truly suck along with their series.
