Plot Summary

United We Stand tells the story of the athletes who stood together during the height of the civil rights movement to support Muhammad Ali in his fight for justice against the US government in what came to be known as the Ali Summit. Through candid interviews with some of the brave men who stood behind Ali including Jim Brown, John Wooten, and Bobby Mitchell as well as archival interviews with Ali himself, this film illustrates how the summit came together in that fateful summer of 1967 and the fallout the athletes faced in the aftermath. United We Stand also explores the parallels to today's world, with African American athletes making a bold stand on their beliefs while being labeled troublemakers and distractions. Written by M3MG
