Things beginning to become strange
imdbdc-054859 July 2019
In this episode Rita and Ciborg stay on the side. Larry Cliff and Jane are in the action. In this episode you will meet a new personality of jane that has a usefull power. You will discover some things about the past of Mr.Nobody and that Nils has secrets about important things. The Puppet show was boringand excesive, but this puppet show create a very funny moment. Larry and Cliff have in this episode a internal dilema. We will see one of the first battles whit the greatest choreography.

Still waiting for the Doom Patrol
robertdlar20 August 2022
OK so 3 episodes in and they are still doing an 'origin story' where Cliff is the only one ready to accept being a hero.

So honestly I only read these comics when I was 8 and have vague memories of it, but it was never a 'good' comic so I don't care if they stick to the comic, but I am pretty sure more 'superhero' stuff went on in the comics than in this show.

So some fundemental problems I have is, both Rita and Larry have had more than 50 years to come to terms with controlling their gifts, yet they act like this is all new to them. Not buying it. Crazy Jane is the only believable one of them. Also if they want to be heroes Jane kinda needs to stop stappling things to peoples heads. She is kinda like their Wolvarine I suppose.

I am also getting a little tired of the Larry subplot. I fully understand how hard/impossible it was to be a gay man before today and even worse so in the 50s but just because he is doesn't give him a free pass. He cheated on his wife, he is not the victim here. I had plenty of gay friends who had fake mariages but still never cheated. They ended their relationship to pursure their 'true soul' and be who they were. Just because you are the pursecuted doesn't mean you are allowed to be bad. I really feel bad for his wife who was trying to make it work. That said, what ultimately happened to him is beyond tragic and, again not knowing the comic or the characters, I don't know what the Negative man wants with Larry so I feel for him in that respect, though again 50+ years to work things out they should be futher along knowing each other.

I feel like this show would have benefited from being a period piece and being set in the 60s or 70s but that's my personal opinion.

Pretty good, but a little cliche

Warning: Spoilers
I'm enjoying the show, but they've fallen into one of the oldest, most cliched writing tropes :nazi scientist. Even crazy Jane makes sure to let us know nazis are bad.

Bad sound synchronization
rsivan8 November 2023
This episode on Max has the sound out of sync with the image by as much as 2-3 seconds behind!

Otherwise the episode is quite enjoyable as many others in the series...

I wish the producers or distributors would take the time to re-edit the episode with the sound correctly synchronized with the image.

Needless to say this is poor quality control on the production or distribution, and very frustrating for us the viewers.

(For a minute I thought my amazon fire-cube streaming device was having a technical problem, but it turns out the problem only happens on this show and on this particular episode.)
