Piling up the cliches
dierregi14 December 2020
The plot is loosely based on a real French female gang of robbers. This story takes place in Gaeta, between Rome and Naples, in the early 80s. Four unhappy and unlucky friends decide to start robbing banks, because of their financial problems.

Anna is a single mother of two, Maria is a battered wife, Chicca e Caterina are two sisters surviving with small jobs. Chicca claims to have already taken part in an heist and convinces her friends to rob a bank, disguised as men.

Complications ensued, in the shape of a police detective for whom Anna is the housekeeper.

It's a flimsy plot in which each of the women is a "type" that provides the justification to the crime: Anna must support her children, Maria must have money to gain independence, Chicca wants to emigrate and Caterina wants to attend the university.

Only moderately funny and more of a TV movie than a cinematic feature
