So many chances
oaksong17 October 2019
Because the story stretches over 13 episodes it doesn't have to adhere to many of the standard formulas and with the large cast is able to follow several story lines. The two primary leads are so believable that it's painful at times, but you're always rooting for them. There is some wonderful comedy in the secondary characters, particularly from Surat Permpoonsavat as Pond, Ae's roommate. Despite his antics, craziness, and sometimes crassness, he still manages to get the girl. Following a chance incident that leads to Ae taking Pete to a clinic and then vanishing, they run into each other several more times before Ae finally gives Pete his number to call in case Pete finds himself in trouble, which is adept at. There is also a story line about one of the boys in Ae's soccer team that leads to a bit of heartache for a friend of Pete's. While many of the boys are fresh at acting they carry their scenes extremely well which leads to many smiles and a bit of wish fulfillment for people who weren't born in the current era and had not chance to live these experiences.

TinCan biased here.
SapioHedonist119 July 2020
The only story line that made me watch this series is the TinCan pair. No shade to the other pairs, I just enjoy cold rich grumpy guy meet sunshine guy trope.

A pleasantly satisfying journey into blossoming same-sex love
Fly_me_to_the_moon2 February 2020
As I traveled along with this series, I found myself caught up in the honesty and the sincerity of the story telling and the acting.

Set in first-year university, Pete and Ae -- played by Suppapong Udomkaewkanjana and Perth Tanapon Sukhumpantanasan -- meet literally by accident when Ae crashes his bicycle into Pete. This is the beginning of the story of a growing, heart-warming relationship that blossoms into love. The two young men who play Pete and Ae work with the theme of first love wonderfully well and develop it superbly. Both characters are very believable and they are kind, considerate and gentle. While the show has it flaws, none of which are major flaws, if one watches with an open mind and can see that everyone involved is giving the very best performance that they know how to give, "Love By Chance" is a satisfying and enjoyable experience. I smiled most of the way through. It is a wonderfully positive romance between Pete and Ae, two young 18 year-old men. There is no nudity nor explicit sex scenes. These are left to the imagination. I don't know if it's the translation, but there is some occasional language could be considered mildly offensive to some. This is minimal, though.

Thailand is to be congratulated on producing this fine gay drama. While it is enjoyable watching for everyone, it will definitely help those young men who are coming to terms with their sexuality. As Pete and Ae show the world, at the end of the day, love is love.

Best of all

I like this series the moment I saw its trailer, its like a different world where you have lots fun and entertainment. I was very sad when i heard it got postponed but when I think about it, its totally worth waiting. The story line is well made with every scene to be precise and with a meaning. After Harry Potter this is the first series where i thought they spent lot of time to get every detail correct. From the first episode to the current one all are very smooth. I watched it many times already. Whenever I get bored i watch this, it cheers me a lot.

Incredible BL show!
sini-2002 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
One of the best BL shows I've seen, better than Sotus in my opinion. It's definitely an emotional roller coaster that makes you laugh and cry so much, but you'll love the journey anyway. The characters were well built and loved the individual character developments (as well relationships). And the scenery was so beautiful too. I really loved the chemistry between Pete and Ae, and their story was my favorites and super cute. Tin's character development was amazing, but I felt so bad for him in the end. I hope we get season 2!

Best story and acting
dielinasherifi27 June 2019
This series is the best one I've watched so far. It has a good story line. I usually get bored of the main lead pretty fast after they fall in love but not in this series! I loved the other couples especially Tin and Can. The acting is very good way better than other thai series I've watched.

LBC- left by choice..... LOL
sreelekhaburla27 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
A cheeky love story directed by P'New. Don't fall for the thumbnails, it is all fluff. Neither the director nor agency are bold enough yet. MAME has attempted an extra..... ordinary plot serving us ensalada frutas, main CP Perth-Saint are no doubt Durian- stinky love, first sub CP Mean-Plan resemble a Grape- lavish indulgence, second sub CP Siwat-Napat look like a Dragon fruit- tangy vibrancy and third sub CP Title-Earth could be compared to an Apple- healthy companionship. This series has a couple of spin offs based on the supporting characters developed besides the main story, like TharnType, S2 of LBC.

When Earth Peerapat appeared as Type for S1, people expected Pod to play Tharn for the spinoff which didn't materialize thus could be called Raw banana- unfruited ghost CP. P'Na played a little cameo as Tin's brother for S1 but was replaced by Nichakoon later. UNEXECTEDLY i found a good CP, Koon-Supha in S2 which i would label Watermelon- watery destiny (so sad wa). Mean was shipped with Saint too during the promotion period. Mean-Plan gained recognition in S1 but fell apart in S2.

So far has been the happy part now embrace for the heart breakers. Perth refused to work in queer content any further due to taunts and cyber harassment by toxic fans. Saint's manager, apparently, had problem with the production team hence you wont find him in S2. Some insiders speculated that Earth Katsamonat was bullied by co actors/crew during filming. Mean Phirawich destroyed his career himself saying he would come back to Bl industry only if he goes bankrupt or old. He stirred up the media for sure, not gaining much work after.

Nice show, the second season felt repetitive
visual_addict27 February 2022
The show in itself was very good. The acting was very well done and the side couple was absolutely beautiful. There was another potential side couple whose story wasn't completed so we never know what they were. But the second season had its problems.

The side couple story seemed repeated and the main couple story they made us fall in love with on season 1 was deconstructed in season 2.

Overall a decent watch for the lovely side couple.

Love By Chance deserved 10 but the unsequel destroyed it
rwing-8746724 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
If Love By Chance, the original stood alone I would say it was easily a 9 or a 10. But since a sequel was made they are inexplicably tied together even though all it had in common was characters.

In Part 1 it told a story of Ae and Pete. Pete was openly gay while Ae was undeclared or perhaps even straight with no romantic interest in anyone until he met Pete literally with a bang.

It was so beautiful watching as Ae fell in love with another boy even to his own surprise. But Love Is Love.

Then hate turned into Love for Tin and Can. Their story started in the first part. It was so well written not perfectly but it was a great story.

I don't know what happened but Saint was not invited back or whatever so the unsequel was made. Love By Chance 2: A Chance to Love. It retold the Tin and Can Story while Ae simply spent it mourning Pete leaving him. He was a prop more or less. With this rewrite the story lost me in its entirety. I can't ever see it any other way.

My advice watch Love By Chance and stop. Pretend that's the end. What ever producer, writer and or director approved such a change should change career because Part 2 of this story is awful.

Nice series
somanichirag3 April 2021
This is one among the best BL series I ever watched but the thing is that it has been stretched over a long 14 episodes where it could have been finished in 10 or 12 episodes. Also there are lots of characters which leads to lots of side plots and one thing I didn't like was the suddenly chompoo disappears, there is no end of Chompoo's story. In spite of all this thing I love this series because of Pete and Ae and the story of tin and can.

Cute, but boring
verawbrauer25 January 2021
This was the first BL series I ever watched and I'm glad it was. It's a great place to start if you're planning on getting into the BL world. The show itself is very cute and all the characters are great, but the plot isn't the best. Rewatching this two and a half years later, I understand why I used to love it so much, but it is indeed ephemeral.
