I read the reviews on the show and what they fail to mention is the show is only 30 minutes! How is she supposed to make sense of budgets & details like that in 30 minutes? OF course that's unreal! It's also unrealistic to think an entire renovation of a house could be done in 30 minutes. There's no way, so get a grip people! These reviews are no more real than the show! To those who say all she does is turn a cute bungalow into a cheap version of itself, really? If a room is lost to create a bigger space then that is what the family needed. Not everyone is more concerned about the number of rooms than the functionality of the rooms. Also, many people appreciate the homemade look, they don't all want it to look like a designer did it. It's a cute, fun show that gives people ideas of ways to customize their own home without needing a contractors license!

Good premise, Bad taste.

Jessica. Girl. You're talented, you've got great vision and insight. Your taste in style.....
Admittedly I've only seen a few episodes of season 7. Half your choices of style, hard no.
You're spending thousands of bucks to pull out hardy beautiful brick pillars and replace with "custom" (basic) wood posts that will rot and weather within 10 years.
Naw girl. naw.
You're very capable.
Just naw.
That bay window was legit too, and you just replaced it with another basic window. Ugh.
.....naw
New fav HGTV show!

I LOVE this show! Jasmine is super relatable and has really creative and innovative ideas. She makes a lot of the custom projects herself which I absolutely love. She also has a mini design series on the HGTV app which is absolutely fabulous. I would give more than 10 stars if I could!
Thank you HGTV

Excellent Program

Nice person, shame about the renovations

Haven't got a bad word to say about Jasmine... seems like a lovely person. However the premise of taking a perfectly good home and knocking a few walls out and out putting lots of staged white furnishings in really annoys me for some reason. Also the programme is so short, only 20 minutes on Discovery... personally I'd like to see a bit more of the renovation process.
Hide From The Contractor

Take perfectrly fine middle-American bungalows owned by middle-class Americans.
Toss out perfectly good kitchens and flooring. Tear down some walls.
Bring in trendy cabinets and gaudy countertops. Install instantly outdated tiles. Add a dash of industrial chic/alleyway junk. And maybe a gratuitous metal roof.
Voila! You have no realized the potential of your liveable, middle-class, middle-of-the-road suburban soccer family house to be transformed into some TV ''contractor's" dolled up version of a liverable, middle-class, MOR suburban bungalow. Except with a lot of ticky-tack crap glued on to the walls.
What an abomination.
No Potential

Jasmine takes cookie cutter houses and does minimal renovations with disappointing results. No real talent or flare. The brown cookie cutter house is revealed as "ta, da" the new gray cookie cutter house.
Yawn.
This is one HGTV show worth missing.
Custom or Cheap?

Warning: Spoilers
Semi ok outcomes but no discussion of budget, family's needs, what new products are being installed. Takes out a wall & says kitchen is so much bigger, but doesn't discuss that a diff room was lost to make kitchen bigger. But, there's no excuse for installing astro-turf when no-water soutions exist. Hope kids don't burn their feet this summer running on rubber in front yard.

Nice Show but

Warning: Spoilers
Very nice program but a few comments as a professional in construction
Please wear appropriate safety gear such as gloves to protect your hands when handling wood
When installing a fence or a planter box the lumber should be redwood or pressure treated lumber
It would be really informative to show how you came up with your budget. You show like others never mention how to put together a budget for a project.
Keep up the good show but be realistic so people understand costs
Thank you
