A Little Bit Better...
nammage1 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
...but not by much.

The third episode does present an opening to the apparent downfall of the two main characters. Chiara loses her best friend because she lied to her about sleeping with her brother for months. Ludovica is upset her mother keeps spending the money that supposed to pay for her private school and her boyfriend offers to 'give' the 6000 euros to pay for it. The sad thing is: it took two plus hours (to the third episode) to get to the excitement. The bad thing is about that: there's only six episodes which means the last three episodes may seem forced and/or rushed. I'll see, I guess.

Yes, in the last 15 minutes Ludovica's boyfriend makes her feel like the prostitute his boss suggests she becomes to pay for the private school but I got the feeling that he actually likes Ludovica but he has a job to do, even if it means breaking her heart by turning her into a prostitute. Of course, I could be wrong: he may just be the scum he is. And, Chiara feels empty and alone and scum prey on such things.

However, I think I figured out something. I think I figured out why it goes by fast yet still is a bit boring: it's not a TV series (or a mini-series), it's a film they cut up to be a TV series. I added up the runtime for each episode and subtracted two minutes per episode for credits. It roughly comes to 4hrs 32mins. Now, I've seen plenty of TV shows that were only six episodes (mainly from the UK) but they felt like TV shows. This doesn't feel like a TV show; it feels like I'm watching a film. My opinion of it is still the same, though.
