Judging from this, I cannot see the Drake hype

Warning: Spoilers
These 4.5 minutes we got here are the music video for the song "Nice for What" by Drake from 2018, this year, so still pretty new actually. If you take a look at the cast, you will find many (female) very famous names and I will spare you the names here, but it is definitely more than you'd expect for a music video in general, which shows Drake's popularity these days. Fittingly, the director Karena Evans is also female, but not very well-known. Anyway, the only reason here I somewhat liked this for was the strong featuring of Lauryn Hill. You can think about her and her comments towards White people whatever you want, but there's no denying she is/was a tremendous artist. Nothing Drake does in here gets him close to her level, so she still makes the song 15 years or so after it was originally released, probably more. What Drake gets in creatively on his own is mediocre I would say. There's also not much of a reason to watch the music video instead of just listening to the record. Even if your favorite actress is featured in the cast here, you can skip it because each and every one of them have so little screen time that it is all quantity over quality unfortunately. 4 stars out of 10 for the mediocre music and music video by Drake here is still pretty generous. My suggestion is you simply check out Lauryn Hill's "Ex Factor" instead. Not really a good sign for music in our times when stuff like this one here is mega scuccessful and tops all kinds of charts. I give it a thumbs-down without hesitation.
